M/M Content

So, I think it's time to have a discussion about this topic because it seems to be something that you, the fans, have somewhat different opinions about. So let's talk about it! There is a lot of M/M content within our community, while F/M content often seems to receive considerably less attention. That was one of the key reasons DRUIDS became what it was.

As a straight woman and a viewer myself, I often felt like there wasn't much content out there that catered to what I personally wanted to see and consume. So I decided to make it myself. I took a pretty strong stance with DRUIDS. I wanted to create content for people who, like me, didn't feel they had a wide range of options available to them, while also creating the kind of stories and relationships that I personally enjoy.

That said, I know that many of you enjoy M/M content, and I would like to create some of that for those of you who enjoy it.

Please don't interpret this as me taking a stance of "one is better than the other." This isn't about that. I simply want to continue creating the F/M content that I am passionate about while also finding ways to occasionally give my M/M fans something they can enjoy, and that I enjoy as well. (I do have some fantastic stories rattling up in my brain.)

So... that brings us to the question...

What would the ideal balance look like to you? I'm not looking to become primarily an M/M creator, nor do I want to abandon F/M content. F/M stories and relationships are still where most of my personal creative interest lies. But I am interested in exploring M/M content and finding a place for it within what I create.

Would you rather see:

Occasional M/M comics or standalone stories?

M/M couples appearing alongside F/M couples within larger stories?

Separate projects specifically focused on M/M content?

Patreon-exclusive M/M content?

Or simply occasional M/M illustrations and shorter comics between my larger projects?

I'm genuinely curious about what you would like to see, and perhaps more importantly, what you would actually be excited to support?

Because I want to find a balance that allows me to continue making the stories I am passionate about, while also giving more of you something to enjoy.

So let's talk about it. What does that balance look like to you?

Discuss below! I am eager to hear your opinions!

I absolutely agree with the points you made here, and I appreciate that you are willing to consider returning to some M/M content for those interested. As for type, I think any of your suggestions would be fun. As for frequency, I would personally be happy to see even just a couple pieces of M/M content a year. Perhaps something once per quarter? That said, I will, of course, respect whatever you decide. I would rather you be happy and comfortable with the content you make. If that means ultimately no M/M content, then I've got no objection to that. I'll continue to support regardless. Keep up the great work!

I don't think you should need to really change up your pairings if you don't want to, we're here for your art in particular after all, if we were hell bent on m/m content we'd be browsing what's in 75% (feels like) of the furry content out there already

However you decide to implement M/M content, it would be great to see some M/F or F/F content mixed in. Comics could alternate between these scenes, or even have some M/M/F elements like Amo's 'Cookie' dream. A continuation of said dream is something I've always been curious to see unfold. For the monthlies, group pictures could be a good way to combine each element. To allow sufficient time to draw them, there could be a vote once every several months to decide who or what to include.

On a personal note, I think M/M couples appearing alongside F/M couples in larger stories should be a given, if only because people are like that. Given that... While I do not yet financially support you, my support is less contingent on your drawing of gay couples so much as the money I have to give. Which is to say, when I get the funds, I'd love to support you even if you decide to drop M/M content altogether. Having said that, the thing that would draw my support are things the artist is most excited to do, because that excitement and enjoyment usually translates to the artwork. And in that vein, if you wanna do the occasional M/M stuff, why not try all of your options on a little rotation to see what you like best?

id like to see both, druids also had some potencial for M/M situations, would love to see some shorts like you did before and occasionally some M/M pictures.

As a gay male person i always enjoyed and cherished the M/M content in the separate tier back then. And though id love to see the occasional M/M comic, I know it takes a lot of time to make one. So more realistically id say the occasional illustration?

Been a long-time viewer over the years; I've got utmost faith in Amocin's intuition. Back when the m/m patreon was running, all of those works were just as great. I say, sprinkle them in as your whims dictate. The outcome will be good regardless.

It’s understandable that you (Amocin) want to focus more on straight stuff and comics if that’s what you’re more interested in. No one can expect you to get creative with things that don't really appeal to you. Besides, you’ve often shown that you aren't opposed to drawing M/M content for your fans. :) Your M/M drawings are just as beautiful as your M/F or F/F ones. And as long as you enjoy drawing them, we’ll enjoy seeing them. I’m straight myself, but I’m happy to support various sexualities, provided they don't cross into criminal territory. Not that I think something like that would ever be posted here. ^^ I’d suggest picking one or two months a year where the monthly image focuses on M/M content. That way, you can see how people like it and make adjustments accordingly. The same could be done for F/F content, by the way. You could make the polls for M/M content really interesting. Should the image feature two or more of the men we already know? Should two girls be drawn with a gender swap? Should one man be muscular while the other is more of a femboy? There are so many creative possibilities just to name a few. A side-comic would certainly work too, though I imagine even a short comic takes time to flesh out so that it feels authentic. ^^

I am straight and personally do not care what art you make! I feel as you being the artist should be allowed to enjoy making what you want to make I am happy to support whatever you are making cause I just love your art! Like others I was drawn simply to the love you put in your Druids comic and the connections each character had with each other :D

I think side comics are certainly a thing in general that I find enjoyable anyways, so more of those is certainly something I look forward to. I may not be the audience for m/m content, but however you feel is a good fit seems fine to me. Also, I think having other members of the cast having their own stories within a work, like druids having multiple on going plots and subplots, is one of the things I think I liked the most, like I got the main story and a few cherries on top. It's a 'have your cake and eat it too' kind of bonus.

I really think the medium you excel in is comics. You know how to tell a great story, and your art style complements it well. Side comics like To Catch a Worgen or Training Day had a nice balance of story and action - definitely a highlight of your Patreon page. Seeing something similar with an M/M focus would be a real treat (even if shorter and updated less often). If that’s too much of a time commitment, incorporating those elements into your larger stories would be the second-best thing. An 80/20 ratio of M/F to M/M content could work well.

I had thought to comment in the voting results post but my "spidery-concern-sensory-response" (note the non-copyright violating title!) told me something like this post was coming. I agree with many of the others: I'm as straight as an example of a straight line gets, but I have NO concerns or negative thought at all about seeing M/M stuff from time to time. Love is love, connections are connections, and no one is forcing me to watch anything I don't want to. Inclusive representation is a thing, and that viewpoint is as valid as my own. I also think it fair and appropriate that the material have its place. And your art style lends itself very well to showing these connections in all their joy and pleasure, so mores the better on that count, too! Whatever you find as a fair or workable amount for your workload and preferences is good with me.

I'm a straight male and personally prefer M/F or F/F pairings and stories. But I absolutely understand that others enjoy M/M content. So as long as you are comfortable doing it, then I expect to occasionally see such content because I know you want to make all your fans happy. I think injecting a M/M scene or relationship now and then, plus maybe 1 in 6 to 1 in 12 of the monthly pictures is probably a good mix, allowing you to focus on what you prefer while still satisfying all your fans.

Seconded ☝️

I'm bisexual, so having some occasional gay or bisexual content definitely is something I'd enjoy, or homo/bisexual couples appearing alongside straight peeps. You wanting to mostly focus on straight stuff since you enjoy that is absolutely not an issue and I don't think you'd need to explain or justify yourself, but wanting to branch out definitely is always appreciated and good. :3

Personally as a Bi man I wouldn’t mind queer couples (whether gay, lesbian, pan or anything in between) appearing alongside straight couples Like you I was more drawn to your comics because it had some fantastic male/female wow stuff but my sexuality has evolved since way back then. So whatever you do I’m down for but I like when romance and sex stuff is natural story wise in regards to the characters you make. Kinda why I love Shai, he’s got the love of his life wifey he can make puppies with and he’s got a dragon daddy to fool around with too

I was thinking of a side comic of Drogan and Shai just fooling around and bonding. And Amo getting giddy about how lovely it was they got along so well.

Id love to see the occasional M/M or Bi content, no need to stress about making it a priority or anything maybe one every 6 months or so that way its 80% straight and a hint of Gay
