Case Log #38 Ch6

I'm back! I had a run of 9 days of work in a row (two different jobs), and I was quite fried at the end of it. I was back rendering yesterday. 1.5 "parts" of the last scene left. I think it's probably 3 render days away from completion of the chapter (this is not my usual rosy assessment). Then a few days of animation rendering. Can't quite remember how long that took last time. It's been a bit:-)

This chapter has been a little hard on me. Rendering has always been fun for me, but it became a chore once I got to the dinner. That feeling hasn't gone away altogether. I've been doing a bit of soul searching as rendering is the biggest part of the process by a pretty wide margin. As I gather it, there is no quick fix to the problem, but there needs to be some change so I can utilize the available time better. I'm thinking that I can probably work through it...I'm pretty stubborn once I set my mind to do something. The writing is still a favorite, but I don't just sit down and write. I get an idea and I write, more ideas follow. I've been thinking about writing the whole chapter before rendering anything, and then giving it a rewrite pass as I render which the story and dialogue would benefit greatly from. Who the hell publishes a first pass? Solo devs., that's who.

Rants. What would the internet be without them? A decent place? I catch myself being an idealist and scold myself for being so naive.

On sunday I expect to have a render to share that isn't a spoiler. It's good to be back!
