Case Log #22 Ch 6
Happy Sunday everyone!
So not much going on this week...except for hitting 1000 renders! Still working on scene 8. Probably will be doing so for another day or so. Per usual I underestimated the amount of renders for the scene, along with a few extra renders to make a joke. I'm hoping to get through the workout portion of the scene today and finish the scene tomorrow. It seems feasible. I am very happy with the progress through January. It feels like the first month that really reflects the effort that I'd like to put into the project...and also, of course, the progress that puts a chapter into your "hands" in a timely fashion. I would love for every month to be like this past month. It feels good to see real progress. I will always aim for that. And here is where my RL disclaimer comes in, only now I don't have to write one:-)
I think you can see the two videos that I posted on vimeo via the video above. I am going to post two polls regarding the usage of AI animations for Pecker PI. So I am perfectly clear, I have no intention of using AI that somehow distorts my view of the characters. The example above does just that. It could have been great if Gabrielle didn't look into the camera and smile...so much for "I". The other video I posted with Josephine looks much more like something that retains the somewhat cartoony feel of Pecker PI. I personally think that one works, but I'd like to hear from all of you as well. The polls (one for paying members and one for everyone else) will be more of a guide than a deciding vote. I will take how you feel about it into account when I decide what to do, and to be honest, you will probably have the last word in the conversation. As I have stated, I'm incredibly torn with the technology for a number of reasons, practical and moral. It's a bit of a conundrum that I feel like we face together as a whole.
Anyway, I will post polls in a bit. I would love to hear what you like and what you hate and anything in between. Comments will help me make a more nuanced choice.
