I created both an adorable kawaii version with tiny faces and a classic version with a clean, traditional look.

I reckon you just need to remove them; it closes perfectly as it is, and it should open easily so that children can open it. With these gaps, I closed it and then could barely open it again, but if you cut away the gaps, it closes perfectly just as it is.

Is it possible to remove the three protrusions from the lids? Otherwise, you’ll have to file them down with a file; if you try to close the lid with them still there, there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to open it again.
