June 2026 VaM2 Development Log
I'm going to keep this update very short as we are nearing the completion of VaM2 Beta1.2 as can be seen on our Trello board here:
https://trello.com/b/KByJdWtA/vam2-public-roadmap
The VR UI/UX item was just completed and was nearly the entire focus of this last month's work. Full integration of Unity's XR Interaction Toolkit has been completed. We created custom components that work well with our existing systems, like the new Gizmo system. Everything you can do in Desktop you can now do in VR. VR even has some advantages with a remote grab push/pull system that makes it fun and easy to move things around in the scene.
We have moved the Comply Posing feature out to Beta1.3 to avoid any further delay in the release. This feature will make it much easier to pose Figures in an intuitive way, kind of like posing action figures.
All that remains to complete Beta1.2 VaM2 release is verifying new content to include (Figures, Skins, etc.), final testing, tweaks, and bug fixes. The next post you see from us should be a post announcing the release. Fingers crossed!
Thank you for your patience on this specific release taking longer than expected.

will we be able in future to import all looks/scenes/addonpackages and stuff from vam1 to vam2 or is it completely different engines?.
Can we try vam2 in VR?? Or only desktop ?
You can, but it isn't that easy to activate in the current release. I suggest just waiting for this next release where it is easier to activate and the UI is fully implemented.
Excuse me its been a few years since I've used VAM, I am downloading the original but where is the creator key it unique? Or is it the one that starts with C, if you could message me too that'd help!
Keep it up—I’m really looking forward to it.
Can VAM1 AddonPackages be used with VAM2?
HI team and community ! I have a quick question : I’m trying to purchase “Golden Palace” and “Dicktator” (Meipe’s anatomy packs for Genesis 8) to use in my Daz→VaM2 workflow, but I’m stuck on the payment side. • On Renderotica, checkout shows “payment processing offline”, no payment method available. • On CGBytes, my card gets declined every time (confirmed with my bank that there’s no issue on their end). I already emailed Meipe directly and support on both sites, but no response yet. Has anyone here run into the same issue recently? Is there another legit way to purchase these packs, or should I just wait it out? Trying to avoid any shady/pirated download sites, just want to pay properly for the content. Thanks in advance for any pointers! Love to everybody 🙏
Hey whats up with the Unity version being set to one of the compromised/vulnerable ones. Seems it is vulnerable with the way it creates output or whatever. Still be great to get on a stable or i guess clean version so unity doesnt freak out
Is there any established system requirements or recommended specs yet?
Is there a meta quest 2?
VaM2 requires a high-end PC to work, but you can connect a Quest 2 to a PC running VaM2 through Meta Link, Virtual Desktop, and Steam Link to experience VaM2 in VR.
Hello, as much as I love VaM1, I personally find the asset management system cumbersome and unapproachable (without 3rd party plug-in). Will VaM2 have a more streamlined and user friendly UI and system for managing/browsing Scenes, Looks, Plug-Ins, Appearance Presets, Poses, etc. than VaM1? Thank you!
Yes. The current versions of VaM2 are a bit better than VaM1 in that regard already. We will keep improving what is there now. We have plans to make the item browsers take up more of the screen and allow searching by tag and other parameters so you can easily find scenes, presets, etc. when you have 1000s of items in your library. In addition, the VaM2 UI will be modifiable by the community so we will likely see innovative solutions to content management UI and UX.
Hello I was wondering if there is a way to make virt a mate run really smooth on rog ally x?
Check if virtual desktop is compatible with your device for running from pc to rog ally x. That's what is realistic. I think. I'm using 4070s 12gb vram and 64gb DDR5 on a ryzen something for running Vam 1 smoothly with VD to Quest 3. It's heaven when you get to knowing the sandbox etc or playground in this case
Will there ever be an android version for mobile?
No - we are targeting high-end PC only.
Sorry if thats a recouring question. How would the performance efficiency compare with vam1? My 4060 struggles whenever theres more than 2 light sources in vr
VaM2 should be better VaM1, especially when there are more lights, as we built VaM2 on Unity's HDRP system which handles more lights without hurting overall performance as much with each additional light. That said, HDRP imposes a minimum performance tax due to how it works, so it might not run as well on very low-end machines, but for mid to high-end systems, it should perform a better and look a lot better at the same time. VaM2 also does not yet implement Skin Physics, which will be a major contributor to overall performance. We won't know for sure about overall performance compared to VaM1 until we get further along with that aspect of the project.
Thanks so much for everything you’ve done. Discovered your job since few days and its amazing
