Weekly Status Report Chapter 11 (9)
Hi guys,
This week has been rather rough and I've been having trouble progressing with the writing. It's been hard to focus and sort out all the complex variations in any given scene but, most of all, it's the pressure of development that's being hard to handle. I would've liked to be done with the update by now, and the longer I take to release it, the harder the pressure gets; deling with long development cycles can really wear you down, especially when there's so much moving pieces and interconnected tasks to take care of. Thankfully I have help with the art and coding, but managing and coordinating people is not that easy and it's not something I have a knack for.
Not everything is bad news though; I've continued to work in the art and that's almost done. We've been also working in implementing a text messaging screen, since the display method that I had been using so far felt really lackluster. We have the screen working, now we have to implement it. I think it will add a lot to the immersion and overall presentation of the game.
Also, the 3 new backgrounds are done, and I'll add a fourth one, so quite a few new places to visit in this chapter. Any guesses?
Regarding the writing, I have left 3 major lewd scenes to write. Once I manage to push through those, I'll need to ensamble the chapter together, make sure everything works and then it'll be ready, so hopefully the release isn't far away. I really need to get this chapter out.
I understand if some of you are disappointed, and I thank the ones who keep supporting the development patiently. Status reports aren't coming out as consistently as they should, but I struggle to write them when I can't share good news, and I'm trying to save my mental energy to focus on the game itself. However, I'm happy that I can start showing some of the work that's been going on for the past few months. Again, thank you so much for your backing of this project, and I'll try to publish a chapter that keeps elevating the experience, even if I'm struggling more than I'd like to do it. My promise is to not disappoint you, and that's what I'm working towards.

hello, we are looking forward to the new episode. We would appreciate it if you could inform us when it will be released.
When Publishers rush their devs we get bad Tripple A games and worn out devs. The beautiful thing about Patreon, Kickstartet and Indie is the fact that you can take your time to make the game in a pace which works for you. Happy devs make good games. Take your time and enjoy making the game :D. We can wait.
Don't worry! Take your time, we understand. You are crafting something really special here and we don't mind the wait because it will be totally worth it.
As much as I'd love quick updates, I'm sure I speak for almost everyone when I say I much prefer you taking your time, not burning out and giving us updates rather than try to do too much and ending up just having to stop altogether. I'm always blown away by the quality of your game, and I'm honestly surprised you can make it happen, so don't stress. Also, the fact that you make most of your updates public instead of patrons only like every other devs made me want to become a patron, which I never did for any other dev aha, reverse psychology I guess.
Like most people have said Eva, I don't think your delivery times are that bad for what you deliver. You are good at what you do and I believe less stressed, things will flow more naturally. So as best as you can, just continue to eat the elephant one bite at a time. Also, IMHO, and this is my opinion, I really do not believe in the audience dictating to a creator what or how things should be done, including through pressure. I believe it compromises the artist's work. That being said, for me, what I truly like most about your work is actually the storyline, writing, and ideas. That the art gives a visual to help the imagery my own mind creates is just a bonus. I truly like GGGB almost as much as ORS despite the superiority of the ORS art. I do prefer ORS solely due to Seymour Ward's character. All the little bells and whistles in games do very little for me and I sometimes actually find them irritating. Most animations I skip to continue a story. I say all this just to make sure that first above all, you really like all the bells and whistles and that they are important to you and secondly, to a big part of your fan base and other audiences you might be trying to reach. Keep up the great work Eva.
Really appreciate your work, as always :) Quality take time... but like I said before, I was already questionning the complexity to handle all variations and all paths as the story move on. It's great to have the choice and I really love that in ORS (like in GGGB) but I was always wondering how you could maintain that, progress in all of it without making it too shallow. That's the real complexity in any choice driven game... as time goes, it become more and more complicated to maintain them and actually be able to move forward (it's exponential) I can only see a few ways to get it through. Either you're writing & thinking the story with more writers, or you find ways to have choices that are somehow regrouping at some point, thanks to a plot in the story, allowing you to "complete" branches and reduce the amount of open variations. Anyway... take care and please continue your great work, full support !
Stay strong, Eva, you are doing fine! You are delivering much more and much more complex content than most of the other creators. Additionally, I want to thank you for your "communistic" ;) pricing policy. Other creators have risen their prices a lot - you are not greedy and let people in need play your updates for a fair 5 to 7€ in total, 1€ per month. Others are charging 5€ per month and are delivering mediocre and short updates. Morethan fair of you!
Have you considered using any of the AI tools to speed up the process (or simply using it as QA)? For example, using text-to-image tool for background or ChatGPT for refining script.
She wrote that she tried the backgroung creation, but it was not satisfying.
Don't sweat it, I don't remember reading any comments of people being disappointed when you say you're still working on it. I'm pretty sure most people understand. As long as you add more Holly content, I won't complain, lol, kidding, kind of... 😝
Echoing what so many have said already, take the time you need to complete the work to your usual high standard, the vast majority of us are fine with waiting. Oh and I’m guessing Cherry’s apartment due to the art supplies.
No worries! Just keep us updated. Folks are patient so long as we have a window to what’s goin on. We understand the complexity you faces with a multi branching story!
I support Briz and fabee very much: Quality, story development (slow, subtle but naughty) needs time. If the author burns out the story becomes a mess immediatly....
Good things come to those who wait. ...We're clearly willing to wait for your high quality output! Please look out for yourself! No pressure from our side - only joyful anticipation.
As much as I like the content and would obviously like to get it quickly, I'd rather not see you burn out and stop altogether or put stuff out that's a mess. I personally prefer transparency as opposed to going radio silent. Maybe just being consistent with the updates, even if there isn't anything good to share, is better because at least it's not being radio silent or seeing nothing for even longer and still getting nothing when there is an update. Either way, don't stress, still love your content and happy to support.
said this before but we aren't abandoning you. we can eagerly await your progress while still hoping you put your health and well being first. i trust your abilities and work ethic. this project is going to continue to live up to and even exceed expectations. stay in there
Excited to see more potential Ian+Allison+Jeremy content 🔥
Thanks Eva for all your work. We are all confident that the next chapter will be excellent, no matter how long it takes to wait. Take care of yourself above all, it's the most important :)
Do.what you feel is right. People can wait.
You worry too much, take a little time off and it will all come to you.
You shouldn't rush quality art. You've proven time and time again that your stuff is worth the wait so please take a breath, take your time, and we'll be here when it's ready. The inclusion of a new text screen is a good new feature. And I love the art too. I am on the Lena/Ian OTP path so seeing them just chilling for a movie night makes me excited and eager to see what's going on there, especially since Ian is looking pretty concerned while Lena seems pretty comfortable and relaxed. The new background I'm going to guess is....Emma's place? But keep up the good work and don't stress. Like I said, it's always worth it in the end.
Only take all the time you need really. And give us the update you are the most proud of, even if it means for us to wait another 3 months 😉. Giving you all the love from France !
Take your time. Watch out for yourself.
I feel ya. People think that having that monthly support on Patreon makes you chill out, not caring about the work progress, because you get payed anyway. But it's exactly the opposite. There's that constant pressure that you know you will get payed, yet you also know you have not delivered on people's expectations.
True for Eva, not true for some other creators.
love the new art, take all the time you need Eva especially with how things have been for you lately, there's no pressure, we are used to your development time and we know its always worth it when a new chapter is released, thank you for your hard work :)
You're doing great Eva. You are talented and people will wait for what you have got to share with us. Take your time 😊
Wow the new art is fantastic! Please take the time you need for yourself and your art 😉
I like seeing images for sometimes mundane scenes. Like lena just drinking coffee and now this that seems to be them having a movie night
Thanks for your work😊
