Ian's outfits re-design (I'm back)
Hi everyone! I just got back from my trip and I'm back to work. Lots to do for Chapter 9, and hopefully I can tackle everything full-speed.
When I revealed the new designs for Ian's new outfits you were underwhelmed. My goal is to always stay true to my vision of what I want to create, but that doesn't mean I don't pay attention to your opinions and consider my choices. Normally you guys give me a lot of praise and credit, so when so many people show concern about one of my design choices I take that very seriously, and try to improve on it if I'm able or I think it's worth it, which, in this case, I think it is.
I still want to keep the designs simple, so they don't get in the way more than they should when producing the illustrations, but I've tried to add more color and "punch" to the outfits, making them more flashy and distinct. I've also scrapped the Lust turtleneck, since it seemed to be a poor choice according to your opinions, and switched up some of the outfit-stat correlations.
I've added a new Wits outfit, consisting of a beige, long-sleeve, cashmere-style shirt. I think it keeps the elegant vibe I was originally looking for, with more subdued tones, making it casual but hot, not nerdy. How do you feel about this new design?
So, now I have two possible ideas for the final layout, and I'm not sure which one is more fitting.
In this first one, I've moved the black shirt to Charisma, trying to portray a slick, well-dressed and confident Ian, while moving the original Charisma outfit to Lust, playing off that cool urban look (or fuckboy appearance, if you like), noticing how that style is similar to Jeremy's, who's main trait would be precisely Lust, while the Charisma look leans more to an Axel/Seymour vibe.
In this one I've kept the original Charimsa outfit in place and gave the black shirt to Lust, since some of you guys mentioned it was more fitting here than in it's original Wits place. For some reason I'm not too sure about tying this more elegant look to lust, but I'm not sure where the Charisma outfit, with it's distinctive necklace and chain, fits more properly. To me, the black shirt gives a more suave, classy and subdued look, while the red hoodie, chain and necklace are more bold and in-your-face.
Let me know what you feel about these changes, and if the new Wits idea looks good. If I don't need to tweak anything I'll probably make a poll for patrons to decide between lineup 1 or 2.

I have to say this is an awesome change, either of them are great for me.
Both sets are a big improvement. I'd say Set 1 is slightly more aligned with the traits. I don't have a problem with the beige shirt either.
I would say the first set is better (the red shirt for lust works well), but the beige sweater needs to go!
1st set is best, but wits outfit looks a bit dull still.
2nd set👍🏼
2nd
I like line up 1
2ndlineup or me.
Glad to see you back! Hope you enjoyed your trip.
I think either works.
I’m liking the 2nd line up better. Some suggestions…… Change the color of the sweater ( something darker, perhaps a darker grey) …… give Ian some track pants for the athletic option. Also maybe a nice pair of dark denim jeans for charisma.
I was wondering Eva, would you be open to trying a half rolled up sleeves look for the wits? I like the beige shirt, but a smart guy, active at work tends to roll up their long sleeves a bit, I think it would be good looking and it could show Ian’s forearms, since he’s training and is probably proud of them. Otherwise I really like how you switched things up!
V-Neck Cashmere (burgundy maybe?) for Lust, Black Dress Shirt for Wits ;) (or the other way around)
Just throwing in my vote for lineup one, I like all of the changes and adding some variation is color is much appreciated!
I would just like to appreciate Eva for listening to feedback, although it might not have been what she wanted to hear, and trying to present alternatives. Big Kudos. I am on team red black lust, although either variant is fine.
A vast improvment over the original draft. I have no issue with the beige sweater, looks fine to me, clean, grown-up look, well done. I do prefer the button up as Lust outfit but either way is fine, as long as the dumb ass turtle neck is gone we're golden in my opinion. If I was nit picking I'd remove the necklace and waistchain though, no selfrespecting adult would ever wear those.. for a teenager it's fine but if you want portait Ian as at least mid twenties those should just be scrapped. Glad to have you back and again, well done :)
The Wits outfit looks quite similar to Perry's sweater, not gonna lie, which is kinda bland, especially while going out (Blazer wouldn't let him in). How about making it a dark grey V-neck with rolled-up sleeves, and have him wear a white dresshirt underneath? Simple, stylish, and geeky enough. Add a necktie if you want to complete the hipster look. Or perhaps he can keep his vanilla brown hoodie look with some black leather jacket over it to look more stylish, just like Lena made her "custom" Lust outfit?
I agree that the first lineup is better, however I'm not sold on the "Beige Shirt of Wit". I feel like wit should have a science logo or Latin saying or something. The problem would be finding something that represents an intellectual pursuit without seeming juvenile (though it's possible to be both intelligent and juvenile.) Too bad that the ESA and CERN have such bland logos.
I'll add elbow pads to the shirt, that should look witty enough :D
Hope you had a nice trip! Both revised line ups are a great improvement! Thank your rework on it. I think either options would work, and my preference is the second set. I think the necklace fits lust Ian better.
Much better - he doesn't look like a funeral director now. 1st of the new ones is best.
I see what you mean about the black shirt Eva, but for some reason in my mind i associate it more with lust, in a sense that it reflects power, manhood and confidence, which are things very close to lust and sex in a male perspective in my opinion. The urban look on the other hand i see it a lot for charisma, certainly "bold" is an adjective for it, which connects with it i think. So i fully endorse Line 2, but i know i will be happy either way if you decide for Line 1. Men are hard to dress, ha? That's why we always wear the same things :P
The red shirt is definitely the Lust outfit, love it! Can't admit the Wits outfit is equally fitting, though.
I am really not a fan of that skin-coloured shirt but I think the charisma and athletics outfits are quite improved. I'd still prefer some proper athletics trousers for the athletics outfit if it's supposed to show up in gym scenes, otherwise it's fine. I'd stick the black dress shirt back on wits and design a new lust outfit, something with short sleeves to show off future potential tattoos.
The athletics outfit is not meant to be worn at the gym, just a casual outfit with a sporty look. And the red jacket can be removed to have only the black t-shirt if needed (I have drawn both clothing pieces separately)
I hope the Trip was perfekt. Welcome back
Line up 2 is a definite improvement in my opinion. The open shirt with accessories fits the confident charismatic look more than just a simple button up. Whereas the button up can be used in a lot more of a flirty manner, just imagine a scenario where a lover so overcome with passion rips the shirt open. Perfect
Much better! Even just the little bit of color adds so much to the designs. Lineup 1 or 2, either are 100% improvements to the previous attempt.
i also think the black shirt fits charisma more, and the necklace outfit the lust one
I like the dress shirt for the Lust in the last option. Only input I could give is maybe change the color of the dress shirt to red of violet/purple if that's even possible.
I think the red shirt fits lust better, so the first option!
