Who's your favourite MC

After finishing GGGB I knew I wanted to try something a bit different and challenge myself. Ashley was a fun female main character to play with and I know many of you guys loved all the possibilities she offered.

This time around I wanted to write deeper and more complex characters, and not limit myself to a female point of view, which would've made the game feel very similar to GGGB, but add the masculine POV with Ian. This opened up a ton of new possibilities for me, things I would've liked to explore in GGGB but couldn't, and it's allowed me to build really fun character relationships with Alison, Holly, Cindy, Lena herself... Character interactions that I feel you guys are really enjoying!

I love both Ian and Lena and I really enjoy being able to explore the story from the two points of view at the same time, but what about you? You enjoy playing with one character more than with the other? Are you like me and feel they complement each other? Let me know in the poll down below!

I am not seeing much love for Ian's part and in his defense I gotta say that Emma scene is the reason his part is amazing. Ian isn't going to be a hyper masculine guy and I love that. He has an ex he likes to write and he gets into real scenarios like all of us. Y'all don't know the taste of your own mouths. Ian is amazing.

I don't dislike Ian's arc, it is somewhat interesting. But I think so far Lena has a much stronger narrative and perspective. Maybe I will grow to like Ian over time, but right now I have to say that I like exploring Lena's story much more!

Ian isn't a masculine POV for me, by the way, just a male POV. Men can be as masculine and feminine as they want to and they're just as much a man as the one next to them! :)

Definitely both, since both have an interesting story arc, and lots of ways into which to go. Both can stay "pure", both can choose debauchery, and can do this, the other the opposite, and yet, their stories are intertwined. Haven't seen this before in a game, and therefore enjoy it very much. Only problem is to find enough time for all the possible playthroughs. ;)

I like Ian story and Ian's friends.

I enjoy both and they both have their downsides for me. Ian being not as beta as I expected him to be was positive for me though Lena seems to be focused more, but is... well... predictable imo.

Both protagonist are fun to play, but I enjoy playing as Lena. I think Lena story line should be double longer than Ian.

V
Vasily McCausland · November 8, 2020

I enjoy both halves, but I prefer Lena's storyline more.

There are so many fewer female protagonist games, and certainly very few that feel 'real' in any meaningful sense. Lena for the win.

I low key dislike playing as Ian. It is alright but I feel the story could be more... varied for Lena alone.

I can’t wait to skip through Ian’s content and get back to Lena. Her story is much more seductive. A poor model/waitress that wants to be a singer, likes to dance, and will probably end up a stripper. Compare that to a writer that likes wrestling with his guy friends and plays pool. Tragedies make good stories. Stories about writers usually do not.

I certainly don't dislike Ian, but for someone like me who is drawn in by the female protagonist aspect, it'd have been my personal preference that ORS was once again created from that perspective. So for me, almost all Ian's content is just kinda *there*. If it's not Lena-related, I honestly breeze through most of it once (excepting some of the Cindy stuff!), and also don't pursue the majority of it in the 'canon' playthru. This is strictly a function of personal interests and has little to do with quality in the art or writing. Like, action movies ain't for everyone, ya know? However, as said, i certainly don't dislike Ian and i agree he and Lena and their respective stories complimented each other very well. And of course the flexibility does provide for more dynamism in storytelling. Actually, you know, thinking on it a bit, the ideal scenario for me would have had Ian as a deuteragonist rather than co-protagonist. Which would have allowed for the flexibility of different POVs but wouldn't mandate that Ian and Lena are 'equal' players with roughly equal amounts of focus.

Both of them have such different stories, I am enjoying each of them :)

I enjoy playing as both of them, but if I have to choose only one, it's Ian. I enjoy his circle of friends and his life goals more than Lena's.

Bagendenten · November 7, 2020

Hey! I literally just joined to say that I only really play because of Ian, though it's nice to see from Lena's perspective too. I've only played your game once before, which I pirated I'm sad to say - I only have money for food these days because of the pandemic, haven't had a job and been borrowing money from people since March, heavily in debt. That's no excuse I know, I really do plan to be a steady patron in the future, I just wanted to say that I really liked this game. I'll try to stay as a patron on 2$ now though, maybe that's manageble, I'm only supposed to pay for essentials with my borrowed money. But I owe something at least, since I've played the game.

57% Lena - that's a pleasant surprise!

B

I prefer playing as Lena. The poll might be a bit skewed since many patrons discovered you with GGGB, which was more or less the first well written western adult game with a female protagonist. So those who prefer (or only play as) men as protagonists might have skipped your games completely in large part. Having dual protagonists made me realize that my dream Eva Kiss game would probably be a main female protagonist, but with several minor characters of different race and genders who have small, playable parts!

I like both angles, with a slight edge for Ian.

F
FRsinewave · November 7, 2020

I’d love to have more choices from either side that will impact or have consequence on the other though. Because as of now you can potentially just play them apart feel like different game altogether. Not so much of ‘red string’

S

The story from both angles is really interesting and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. But I do prefer Lena's tale so far.

I love that we can get the option to train in MMA with Ian which is extremely rare in VN’s and Lena is always tons of fun so definitely both!!

D
DemnorTheSwede · November 7, 2020

Though I enjoy playing both Ian and Lena, I definitely prefer playing Lena. What attracted me to GGGB initially was the corruption of the "girl next door" and I feel I get more of that from Lena's story than Ian's.

I prefer playing as a puppet master, controlling both of them for a variety of outcomes

F
Funky Munky · November 7, 2020

I enjoy playing as both, but have put Lena as my favourite, simply because it's something I prefer as a playable character in these games. I am curious, however, to see how much influence each character has on the other's story when they move into relationship phase; whether you can play as a morally corrupt character steering the other down a darker path, or if there will be conflict when playing one as corrupt and the other as a more "pure" route. I'm really excited to see how this game plays out!

B
BloodyMares · November 7, 2020

Love them both and if there was only one of them, the experience would feel incomplete. But I personally enjoy Ian's writing and his social circle just a little bit more. Probably because I can relate to him easier.

B
Balvenie1401 · November 7, 2020

Yup, second that.

B
Blue Swallow · November 7, 2020

Having Lena take Mike home, let him rawdog and take his load was my favorite thing in the game so far

S
SoloStudios · November 7, 2020

Honestly playing as both is what makes this game great! You could just play as Ian & have an entire harem of women, or Lena and bang every dude on the street. But putting two MC's together, choosing their decisions, and seeing how they'll react to the others... It's the best!!! And adds a whole new level of depth to the game

J
Julian Harper · November 7, 2020

I do love playing as both but if I had to choose it would be Lena, I enjoy playing as female characters more in these types of games as it gives me a very different point of view. You’ve nailed the writing on both of them though!
