Our Red String public teaser
I've been showing the characters for Our Red String these past few days, and now the whole main cast is revealed. There are more characters than the ones you can see here, but these are the most important ones.
One of the big reveals was that this time around there won't be just one playable character, but two: Lena and Ian (girl 3 and guy E). The game will alternate between the two, and you'll experience the story, make choices and affect other characters from both their points of view! This is a new take on branching narrative and player choice and consequence that I'm very excited to explore.
The big reveals don't end here, though. I've been teasing one for a couple days, and there's still another one. So stay tuned for tomorrow's announcement!
What do you think about the characters so far? Are you eager to try the new game? I'm sure are to share it with you guys!

Oh, so it's a double PoV. I'm conflicted about it, there are so many games from the male perspective.. That said, very few can come near your quality of narrative. And intricacy, in this case double inctricacy..very bold move considering how entangled gggb is :D. That said, my deciding factor will be on the type of content/characters: I don't want a washed out experience but the whole picture (characters that can be and act weak as well as strong, choices that can also led to bad or inevitable consequences, a little drama here and there to spice things up, and so on..). GL
And, I almost forgot, will there be a transgender storyline for the male character?
Hey, I'm already excited. I've played GGGB and have very pleasant impressions, you are a really talented writer. What I'd like to see in this one will be more sophisticated ongoing character customization. For example, if you go to the gym and work squats, your hips widen and your ass grows. If you bench and row, you get jacked. Or change hairstyle. Get tan. Then smooth the tanlines on the nude beach. Sounds like hell lotta work for your graphic designers? Also if you have not yet written most of it, how about an alt storyline, that allow the MC to go out of the threaded path and behave unconventionally. Maybe rudely or sociopathic.. Like if you play as a guy, hit on women with trashy lines or grab em presidential style. And face the consequences - maybe make it big in politics or business? ;) Also, have you thought about making an online playable version, either on a dedicated site like Hornstown, or maybe on a free platform like neocities?
That sounds really great on the surface but it just hinders the progress of the story because that’ll put the dev in a position where they’re dedicating resources to cosmetic (surface level) changes. Again, I like the idea - but I’d rather more story
I'm still trying to figure out the significance of the title...
Can't wait!
Awsone Work! Love the Charakters
I think the characters look great, and I’m definitely excited to try the game out. Still, there are some things I’m interested to hear more of your reasoning around. The main being how you look at the trade-offs between the two MC’s, and how this ties together with wanting to give the characters more development. If you consider GGGB, Ashley comes a certain distance in her development, in terms of psychological and physical changes, as well as having a number of routes to take. When adding another MC, how will that affect the progression/content for the other character? For example, if you assume that the amount of content in GGGB is constant, adding another MC, intuitively, would have led to reduced possibilities for Ashley. Isn’t there a risk that having two MC’s will lower the potential for both of their progressions/amount of content? Another dimension in this question is how you deal with character preference. Reducing the possibilities for one character might not be a problem if people thoroughly enjoy both MC’s, but how would you cope with a situation where people are in two camps for which character they prefer? At that point, IF there is a trade-off between characters, so that increasing the content for one will limit the content for the other, it could be disappointing to some people that they can’t take, say Lena, to certain point because there has to be content made for Ian also. Also, some smaller and more technical questions are how the update pattern will look; one episode for one character, or shared episodes? Will the content for the characters be split relatively equal, or will one be more prominent? Overall, then, the fundamental question is trade-offs, namely if content for one character will come at the expense of the other. I am interested to hear your take on these questions, and I want to make it clear that I am in no way trying to judge the game prematurely or say it can’t be done. I have no idea what the game is about, or how it will be executed, but I think it’s only natural to think about what the implications of two MC’s will be. Especially when what I really enjoyed about GGGB was the variation and progression, psychological and physical, for the characters.
I couldn't have put it more eloquently and I share most of your fears. However, Eva only said that we have two "playable" characters, not how much space each will take up. If they both take an equal amount amount of development and screen time then it'll probably lessen my enjoyment of the game, but if Ian's playtime can highlight the actions done by Lena then it can be a great improvement from GGGB. The Witcher 3 had more than one playable character, but Geralt certainly had a lot more playtime than Ciri. If both share the spotlight equally the game probably won't be for me, but that matters to no one except myself. What's important is what Eva wants to do and if she can increase her audience with her creative decisions. Having character progression and customization equally shared between Ian and Lena would be a big drain on development, like you said. But if it happens, it happens. And of course, male protagonists are very common while female protagonists are very lacking (both in quantity and quality) to put it mildly.
I can't wait to play your new game. The main characters looks awesome, especially Lena. <3
Is the special feature Lena's cat will add some chaotic randomness to the outcomes? Whatever it is, I'm really looking forward to it, especially how the two characters will interact and hopefully how their stories will intertwine.
Do you get to customize these main characters too like you could make Ashley get tats and piercings and eventually turn her into a bimbo?
There will be customisation and character progression :)
Guy E reminds me of Eric(the boring first boyfriend) from GGGB. His side of the story will have to be good for me not to just skip past his scenes. I like the girl, but Girl 5 calls to me...maybe I play the boring guy scenes just to get that girl...Alright, I'm interested.
Hopefully you don't find him boring, but as entertaining as his female co-lead. And spoiler alert, he's more of a Dave-type than an Eric-type.
Can't wait for this game to come out :)
I remember sometime last year on kickstarter that visual novel pitched this exact idea. You could have the characters end up together, or you could have one lile the other one, but the other one doesn't feel the same way. I still haven't finished goodgirlgonebad, the last version i played was 30 i believe. The last one is version 32 i think.
I like this idea of having two playable protagonists and how each one can make a minor choice which can have a major consequence on the other character.
