What's your opinion on Game of Thrones ending?
With the ending of the popular TV series, now everybody's talking and has their own opinion about the finale. I've never been a big fan of the show (I almost skipped season 4 and 5) but I enjoyed the Song of Ice and Fire book and followed very closely this 8th season.
An ending can make or break a story, and Good Girl Gone Bad is finishing soon. With that in mind, I want to know what you guys think about Game of Thrones ending, and see if your opinion is in line with mine :)

Game of who...
The biggest problems with GOT, since season 7, was the rushing of the plot. They didn't care about plot holes, about setting logic (all the Dothraki swords go out, then apparently thousands of Dothraki riders are alive still), or about setup. So stuff that would have taken place over two or three episodes, if not a season (like revenge on the Dornish by Cersei) ended up trash, and by season 8 it was all either payoffs of earlier material, or rushed new material.
Hi Eva Kiss ! first of all, just wanted to say that i'm a big fan of this game ! thanks for making this awesome game ! Ashley's one of the most prettiest game characters i have seen in a while ! if you don't mind me asking, can you tell us how long is the game planned to be ? considering we're on v0.28 at the moment ? once again, awesome game you got going on here ! best of luck !
all you have to do, is not completely change the characters, 10 min before you end it.
The further away it moved from the books, the worse it became. Really hoping Martin will finally get on with writing next one.
right there with you, I cannot motivate myself to finish it. Chernobyl is good though
Just terrible. I lost all hope on the series after what they did with Dorne, which is my favorite arc of the books.
The writers wanted to get the fuck out of the show to work on Star Wars. Although that's not the only reason; they are also a couple of hacks, as they proved to be in past works, like Wolverin Origins and Troy (in which they demonstrated their total lack of respect for the source material) and the conveniences and shift of focus in previous seasons of GoT (post book seasons).
Every character had so much potential and they had so much build up. I hate that it ended so flat. Nothing epic. It's like "Once upon a time...the end."
Never watched a single episode.
The ending killed the series for me
Fine ending but everything was rushed in my opinion... the white walkers, the battle with cersei and danaerys death... could have been a 12 episode season so they could focus more on the important stuff
it sucked they left so many unaswered questions now we have to wait for george to get off his fat ass and finish the books
It is a good conclusion, but they didnt develop the stories or the characters to get there. For example, it made sense that Daenerys would go mad, but they didnt spend enough time how she got there. I get the idea that she felt more and more alone and went mad, but the show made it seemed like she was only enraged, like the enrage timer on an MMO boss. A big shame.
my opinion is that the inconsistency in narrative technique (after the initially good start..) transform GoT in a special effects shows.... EVA remember the high quality of GGGB game goes by building a solid narrative tecnique and easy but overwhelming pictures...
I'm happy it's done. What they did was worth it for the tradeoff of no more. Needless to say I don't plan on watching the spin offs as of now.
You people need a life!!!! What fucking show??? LMAO. Like little kids watching Kids shows, HAHAHAHA. And now your show ended and it was disappointing like most things. Get over it and go do something with real people. LOL
GoT became such a cultural phenomenon that a lot of people would meet every Sunday and watch it with their friends like a movie night. The story is so popular (or was) that it has become a part of... everything. I read usually at least 1 major news headline every few days with a game of thrones reference. I hear it on the radio. I see GoT memes every day. You don't have to enjoy or care but if someone alluded to Shakespeare you wouldn't go "I don't get it! LMAO losers watching a play! Reading their old books, performing for others, what a bunch of dummies!" Also you do realize you are admonishing people for being childish by leaving a childish comment on a ... game page. I know when I think of manly, social men who love the outdoors gamers are the first thing that come to mind :P
Many of the ending points could have worked if the showrunners had decided that they didn't want to rush everything and find the quickest points from A to B after they had run out of book material to adapt. As it stands, the final seasons of the show don't live up to the first few.
We watched the first episode when it first came out and didn't like it. About a month ago we tried it again and binged watched it up to this last season. The final episode packed 25 to 30 minutes of writing into an 82 minute show. After the end I stood up and said, "That sucked. I'm sorry I watched all those other episodes leading up to this lame shit. "
I've never watched a single episode or read any of the books, so no idea.
GOT deserve a better last season period! come on, arya?! seriously, the king of the night killed by arya stark... ok she is a badass assassin ok she is silent and everything - but - she is rogue assassin who barely survive the end of her training, she don't submit to the law of the faceless god, so if arya can kill him any well trained assassins can do so as well and the only price you have to pay is your life so do you really think, in 8000 years no one mother, no one father or whatever is desperate enought to pay with his or her life the price for sending an assassin well and properly trained with valeryan steel dagger in time where this kind of steel was a common thing to kill the king of the night. really?! no one?! i can't believe that because it's seems everyday there is at least one people who gladly die for any reason, ambition, vengance or mercy, so killing the king of the night, common, the guy who do so, i'm sure even the mad king will say "thank you buddy" to the one who pay the price for free the world from the deadly king. and the last episode was a big pile of shit, at least they can let jon snow embrace the fire breath of drogon and reveal himself as the last targaryen, common people this end suck as well as the death of varys and the twin lannister, cersei have to die from her brother hand because she is as mad than daenerys and the mad king himself... so in the end? well, very bad ending :(
I'm about two seasons behind - so I should probably avoid this thread, huh ;)
It was a wasted potential. The show had great actors and actresses, great production quality. Actually everything was 10/10. But the writers I guess wanted to pull out. I did more research and it turns out that HBO wanted 10 seasons with 10 episodes, while DND wanted 6 seasons. In the end they settled on 8. But I guess it wasn't enough for DND, they were so impatient that they rushed everything... so sad... Edit: also it seems that Disney hired them (the writers), maybe thats why it was rushed? So that they could work on the next Star Wars?
I fall into the "it was weak" category. Their desire to shock people with Daenerys turn toward despotism was poorly played. If you look backward there's evidence that might happen, but it was too sudden and surprising to too many people the way it was done. Tyrion's conversation with Jon laid out some of the issues, but if you have to watch the entire series to see the problem, it means it was way too rushed at the end. Bran as the leader was totally unexpected and a little tepid of an ending. I was happy with Arya's journey, and eventually Jon's, but I really wanted Sansa as Queen. I think she would have been a good one. I was OK that she choose to be Queen of the North with the choices they made. On Danaerys, the first sign of problems was her willingness to ruthlessly deal with her enemies. Unfortunately, her ruthless elimination of the Dothraki patriarchy and slaveholders felt justified and fans cheered it. It doesn't mean her actions weren't Machiavellian or ruthless. I was kind of expecting her to go bad after she murdered Sam Tarly's brother and father. You don't murder unarmed prisoners of war. It was wholly unnecessary, and I was really upset about it. I wasn't a fan of either character, but they didn't deserve that. Jailing them or taking them as hostages would have been a better strategy. Ultimately, her attitude that "free" folk are responsible for their leaders is not an unknown or inconsistent belief that many despots have historically taken. I was also really bothered by the sudden growth of the size of her army after the battle at Winterfell. They should have handled the survivability of their armies better. It felt during the episode like everyone was killed. Intellectually I know that's unlikely, but still. It was poorly staged.
Early seasons of Game of Thrones had a few major themes, ported directly from the books, that really made the show stand out. Themes like how even people you might initially hate are fundamentally human. Themes about how our human nature leads us towards the choices that define us, and often doom us. The deaths of both Ned and Robb were completely avoidable, but we got to experience their character arcs with them to see why they felt like they had to make the choices that doomed them. It’s that experience of walking alongside the characters that made everything seem so real — and that is the precise failing of the last season. I have other issues with details like the anti-climax of the third episode, the details of things like the blatantly idiotic battle plans and the idea of Euron ambushing flying dragons by hiding a fleet behind a not-particularly-tall rock, the inconsistency of things like the accuracy and range of the scorpions... ok I have a lot of issues. Thing is, I can forgive little details — the Dothraki charge might have been something no intelligent commander would do, but it was a powerful visual, so... sure. What I have a harder time getting past is the inconsistency in narrative technique. I loved the Hound because we got to spend time with him and see his side. I fell in love with Jaime when we saw (or read) his telling of the fall of the Mad King, and I realized that there really were layers to this character. Those layers were the beauty of the series, and they took time and effort to develop. Time and effort that the last season did not show. They were abandoned for the sake of time, so the showrunners could jump from plot beat to plot beat. That’s antithetical to the entire conceit of the series, and it made the series finale a massive letdown for a ton of folks.
I don't see how a person with functional brain can write such an absolute garbage. I blame it all on Martin for allowing this to happen.
I think it could have been written better but it was a good ending. I don't have much trouble with the events that happened, it's more than they needed better development.
dunno i have not seen 1 ep of that show ^^
I think it was the best we could hope for given how rushed the final season was. Last two episodes were the worst of the season though.
You should watch more shows dude
