Love the Stones cover and the weaving of dialogue, on rhythm, with those short strings. Great storytelling, too! Also, us starship lovers appreciate all the NCC-74205 love.

These were the episode’s the Trekspert guys said ‘wow they haven’t even seen Improbable Cause /The Die is Cast yet’ in response to you guys telling them that you really like season 3 so far. I can never tell if you guys are going to like something but these ones I think are so phenomenal that I’m cautiously optimistic it’s as close to a guaranteed S as we’re gonna get in Trek. It’s a really good sign that the Garak/Bashir Boy who cried wolf exchange gets such a prominent placement in the trailer.

I’ve often said that Garak is my favorite character of DS9! There has been lots to find intriguing about him up to this point, but these two episodes officially sealed the deal for me! For me, the "boy who cried wolf" exchange between Garak and Bashir is one of the best Trek moments of all, and I can't even say that I disagree with Garak's interpretation! It doesn't surprise me that you picked it out for the trailer. Also, my list of favorite Trek characters is always in a state of flux, but for the most part, I have to say that Garak is probably my favorite of all, and this set of episodes is pretty much what seals that deal for me.

Incredibly excited for this reaction! I have clear memories watching this two parter when it came out and how shocking it was.

"Don't tell the same lie twice" so perfectly encapsulates the enigma that is Garak.

I wouldn't say DS9 has arrived because this is late in a pretty solid season of episodes. But this might be their Best of Both Worlds episode, although some folks would contend that that happens in later seasons. I guess we will see when the time comes.

It's simply marvelous! Garak vs Odo is an S!

Waiting for these to drop is going to be hellish for me. This is my 2nd favourite two-parter in DS9 (and Trek in general), and these episodes cemented the show as my favourite Trek forevermore. As an OG TOS gal (I grew up on nightly reruns), I never much took to Next Gen (largely because of its derivative first season). DS9 marked my return to trek-geekdom with a fanatical frenzy. Back then, the cons were reasonably priced, and access to the actors MUCH more easily attained. (It was an excellent decade during which to be a Trek groupie. 🤭) So many of the actors were lovely to us. Marc Alaimo spent six hours of his own time drinking and chatting with us pool-side, at a con in Vegas. He completely belied the whole "never meet your heroes" trope. Wish I could say the same for all of them, but I definitely cannot. Most of them were great, however, and as a Garak fangirl, it was wonderful how kind A. Robinson was to us! I'd have been crushed if he'd been snide and arrogant like a few other reccuring cast members (whom you've not yet met). Robert O'Reilly and J.G. Hertzler (Gowron and Martok) were also an utter delight, who spent three hours (also off the clock) hanging out in a hotel bar with my friend and me. TLDR: I'm just over-excited to finally be a patron; as a (failed) film major, I enjoy your insights and observations, even on the rare occasions that I disagree with you. Keep it up!!! 💕

Fantastic Trailer! As I've been rewatching the series, I feel like this moment is a turning point similar to Season 3 of TNG. The show has already "begun", but this is the point where things begin to move in a direction that begins "the" era of DS9 I think many of us hold so close to our hearts. Break out the popcorn boys - there are many, many great moments to come!

I suppose this is where I say "Now Deep Space Nine begins" But that would be a lie. It doesn't begin for seven more seasons. Well done on this edit, Josh. This two parter may be my... Well, certainly in my top five for Deep Space Nine. I vividly remember the previews playing for it over and over on TV back in the 90s. "So much for the Dominion..!"

Ooh, excellent trailer. I love the music choice and the dialogue of Bashir’s cry wolf discussion with Garak! Otherwise… There were some aspects of these episodes that I really liked, and other aspects that fell pretty flat for me. I know I’m in the minority opinion; I’ll be very curious to see what y’all thought of it, hah.

They DID write Heart of Stone though, you can’t always judge a book by its cover. They also write some of my favorite future episodes too, so fingers always crossed.
