Ahhh, a fire trailer once again. Introducing a deadly enemy species and then immediately humanizing them is peak Trek. Can't wait for the reaction.
I think this episode does NOT humanize the Jem'Hadar. In fact, I think that is the point.

I am loving this trend of getting a trailer for every episode! These are much better than the goofy weekly promos in the original run. Now I am curious as to whether you can make a trailer that makes a bad episode actually look good. There are a couple opportunities for that in S3.
Approaching the zenith of the 'nature vs nurture' debate settling wholly on 'nurture' in the zeitgeist, it was quite the twist for Trek to suggest that yeah, maybe, but not inherently so. And to write an episode depicting the circumstances in which it might it not be so. You can't raise Alexander to be a Klingon warrior, and you can't raise a Jem'hadr to open a restaurant on the promenade.

Josh, you need to help us pressure paramount into getting a 4K remaster of this beautiful show.
The thing is, they totally could remaster it not just for 4k (like with TNG), but with widescreen as well. They shot the masters on film with a wide aspect ratio in order to be "future proof". This means the version we are watching is actually cropped to 4:3, as opposed to TNG which was shot with 4:3 in mind. The special effects like Odo, etc. were all added to the 4:3 version though, so all of that would have to be redone, but it would be worth it. Those Odo effects are one of the only parts of the show that didn't age well, everyting else looks amazing. A lot of the space stuff would have to be redone also.
Like that you got some shots of Jake Sisko in there Abandoning the game of mortal men and ascending to his own level.
The scenes with Ben and Jake are some of the best of the series. Many of us kids from that time saw Avery as our mentor on how to be a good father.

Just noticing some really gorgeous lighting in some of these scenes. (Odo in the conference room, Odo and Kira in Quark's.) I know Jonathan West took over as DP in season 3. Show starting to look a little different maybe?
