UNCUT - The Expanse Season 4 Episode 7

Glad it's getting a bit less painful at least. This is my first time seeing this season in half a decade, but it's coming back to me. The last few eps do start to weave the various stories together, but S4 is definitely my least favourite of the show.

Book 4 was by far the worst, huge dropoff. I remember thinking that I hoped they changed it for the tv show, but nah. Glad you're honest with your opinions!

I wonder if setting off the huge bomb, going blind and the instant death slugs were from the Roci crew rolling a series of nat 1s on their survival checks

Season 4 was my second favorite season, next to season 3 - there was a noticeable drop-off in enjoyment for me, but not huge. In my opinion, the seasons began to gradually decrease in interest and quality each season after 3.

I think the people who caption episodes must write captions just to stave off boredom. I've seen captions like "subtly sarcastic music plays," and you know that was because the captioner was so damn tired of writing "MUSIC" for the 975th time. Also the instant Belter code-switching, and the fact that the writing never comments on it, is one of my favorite things about this show. I wonder if part of the thick accents and the unexplained Belter words is to suggest that, were we (the audience) part of this timeline, we would be uppity UN types who would be looking down on them. Otherwise, this episode upped the stakes and remembered to focus on its characters, and I can't complain about that. Looking forward to the next episode.

FWIW, Avasarala's friend on Mars didn't kill himself. That was Erinwright and Jules Pierre Mao's handywork. Glad you guys found a bit of daylight in this episode. Season 4 can be a bit of a slog for sure. "Its heating up" LOLOL!!!!
