Simmer Talk: Backups, Breakups & Backchannels
Because at this point, even our backups need backups.
Heyyyy,ᰔᩚ welcome back to Simmer Talk.
I hope y’all are enjoying your new Soft Baked set!! I’ve been good — just clearing out the last of my Thanksgiving leftovers.... please tell me you threw yours out too ( ╹ -╹)? Plus, trying to stay warm one hot chai at a time.
Now… go ahead and pull your chair up. ⑁
We’ve got things to discuss.
Because today’s lineup is… layereddd. Anadius stepped away, Saudi Arabia is giving very much “so what now?” energy, and the patch notes are long enough to double as winter reading. It’s one of those weeks where everyone’s pretending everything’s fine, but the Sims community is quietly looking around like… okay?
Take a breath. Grab your water.
Let’s get into it.
𓄧 Anadius: The Plot Twist of the Month
So… Anadius said “yeah, I’m good” and quietly left the building. No dramatic exit, no essay, no soft-launched goodbye post. Just a clean Irish exit from the entire Sims ecosystem. And honestly? With how chaotic patch cycles, buyout rumors, and community expectations have been… I don’t blame him. The man carried half of this community on his back for yearss.
The community, of course, is doing what it does best: speculating like it’s the season finale of some messy reality show. But if you strip away the noise and look at what he actually said, the story is pretty simple.
Here’s the tea, without the fanfiction:
• He was tired. Like deeply, chronically, “this franchise updates more than my phone” tired.
• The EA buyout drama didn’t help the vibes. Things have been weird lately, and he clearly felt the shift.
• Patch day pressure was out of pocket. Every update, he’d get spammed like he was personally responsible for the entire Sims economy.
• And no, EA didn’t “force him out.” The conspiracy girlies need a nap. He literally said, “I’m done,” and logged off like a sane person.
So yeah… he dipped. Quietly. Cleanly. Respectfully.
And the community? Still standing. Still speculating. Still dramatic.
Business as usual.
.ᐣ Saudi Arabia & EA: The Money Is… Getting Weird
So here’s the quick tea: Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) has been buying into gaming like it’s Black Friday, and EA was one of the biggest targets on their wishlist. But now? The whispers are getting louder. The investment spree slowed downnnn, their financial reports aren’t hitting like they used to, and a $55 billion purchase is starting to look like… a bold choice.
Nobody’s saying the deal is dead.
But the vibes are very “hmm.”
What the community is picking up on:
• PIF’s spending cooled off just as the EA deal was gaining attention.
• Their revenue dip made headlines, which makes a $55B buyout feel a little dramatic.
• Investor pressure is rising, and big deals get pushed or reshaped when that happens.
• EA suddenly dropped that emotional blue slideshow, which absolutely screamed “Please don’t leave us.”
• Simmers are side-eyeing hard, because the optics aren’t giving “stable partnership.”
What this could mean for EA & The Sims:
• If the money slows down, the deal could be delayed or reshuffled.
• Big projects (like future Sims titles) might hit a pause-and-reassess moment.
• EA might start playing extra nice with the community to keep engagement high if the financial backing gets wobbly.
• Long-term content plans could shift, especially if budgets tighten or the acquisition terms change.
To keep it cute and realistic:
I'm not predicting doomsday.
I'm sayyyying the math and the timing are… interesting.
And when billion-dollar deals start feeling “interesting,” companies start acting funny. EA already is.
✦ The Laundry List (Let’s Start With the Big Three)
Before we get cute with the other fixes, let’s talk about the three problems that had the community clutching their pearls: save corruption, Memory Boost, and the Gallery/Library errors. EA finally touched all three... kind of.
So first up, save corruption. Yes, they actually made progress. They squashed a huge bug where a Sim could be dead, a ghost, a clone, and homeless all at the same time — basically a paranormal identity crisis — and that combo was crashing saves on sight. That’s fixed. Everything else? Still a work in progress.
Now, the new Memory Boost feature is giving a little hope. According to EA, it managed to load some corrupted saves on certain PCs, which is basically the tech equivalent of “it worked on my machine.” Promising? Yes. Reliable? Calm down.
And as for the Gallery/Library upload errors… still broken. Still acting stubborn. Still EA’s “top priority,” which in EA language means, “we’re trying, please don’t yell at us.”
Alright — that’s the big three. Now let’s slide into the rest of the highlights.
✦ BASE GAME FIXES (The Hits)
These are the things everyone has complained about at least once:
Privacy blur works again for older-age Sims.
Seasons screen no longer hijacks world travel.
Male Gallery Sims stop sounding like schoolchildren, but only in new saves.
Main Menu no longer displays “WWWWWW.”
Teens keep their aspirations (unless it's a teen-only one).
27 new free furniture swatches across nine BG objects — EA got inspired and ran with it.
Good/Evil Sims stop mourning at graves every two minutes.
Sims change outfits in front of toddlers again.
Fear of Horses removed for players who don’t own Horse Ranch.
✦ WHAT’S NOT IN THIS POST
Because trust me… there was more. A lot more.
There are dozens of fixes for:
Expansion Packs
Game Packs
Stuff Packs
Kits
Mooorree Multiple Game Pack problems
…and they were doing the absolute most. Lighting bugs, hair tags, venue schedules, food issues, ghost behavior, shader mismatches — it was basically patch notes karaoke.
They’re not included here because this post would’ve turned into a dissertation, and I’m not doing that to y’all.

Real Talk ᯓᡣ𐭩
Firstly, if you made it to the end? Bless you. You deserve a snack and a nap for surviving my gab session. Secondly — and I cannot stress this enough — BACK UP YOUR GAME BEFORE DECEMBER 2ND. Don’t play brave. Don’t test fate. Don’t let your legacy Sims become ghosts in the machine. Just do it.
Now… let’s talk about Anadius.
I get why he left. Truly. The man was holding up a whole corner of the community on his back, dealing with constant pressure, legal heat, tech chaos, and entitled players who acted like he ran a 24-hour tech support hotline. So him bowing out? Yeah. I understand. Sometimes you log off… and stay off. But here’s the thing: the internet does what it does. When one person puts the flag down, someone else picks it up.
Am I telling y’all what to do?
No.
Do I know y’all are grown and make your own choices?
Absolutely.
Do I know $1,500+ of DLC is crazy and not everyone can afford that?
You didn’t hear it from me.
Now, I’m not saying I support piracy —
but I’m also not about to pretend the community doesn’t already know where the back doors are. So if you see a certain “someone” floating around picking up where Anadius left off…
girl, I’m minding my business.
You’ll recognize the link when you see it.
It… glows.
It whispers.
It looks like something you shouldn’t click, and yet people do anyway.
But that’s all I’m saying on that. Period.
And before I go — I will be making another reminder post on the 1st telling you again to back up your game, because some of y’all like to live dangerously and I refuse to let December 2nd turn into a community support group.
Stay warm, stay hydrated, stay backed up.

Love this and I love how Anadius dipped outtt 😭 If it's one thing I can't stand, it's a bully and people were acting too bold and entitled to his services he provided for free!! I don't blame him at all. And thank you for the buyout update, I know EA shaking in them boots lol. Also that "Promising? Yes. Reliable? Calm down." line tickled meee 😂 Story of The Sims 4's life. Thank you for the read! 💕
Same, like why are we bullying someone for free stuff? Lol, you're welcome, Doll! 🤍
I would much rather read this than listen to some of the "news creators" whiny selves on youtube talk about the patch notes! ❤️ As for Anadius, girl I get it too! We are going to miss our cranky Uncle Anadius who gave free things to us. Just please be smarter than the reddit crowd y'all - don't do shady stuff when your governmental name is attached (Patreon).
Lol, I think we are all going to miss him!!
Thanks for the talks, these are great and informative. Totally get what you put out. ❤️
Thank you!! ♡
Did I mention that I absolutely love your posts? You get right to the point, no going around the mulberry bush to get to the real meat and potatoes (as my grandma woruld say😄😄) My older sim self appreciate you❤️❤️
Lol, I'm happy you love my post! I try to rapid-fire my writing because I hate being long-winded 😅.
