A Gorgeous Hat Pattern from 1931.
I was so excited to find this pattern, and even more excited to dig through my McCall's magazines and store flyers to find this one illustrated with so many great colors.
I adore hat patterns, and with Lupus, I never leave the house without one (gotta love turning bright pink within minutes of being outside!). I'm so happy to have this beauty in my collection and I can't wait to start stitching on that big, wide brim.
From the May 1931 McCall's Magazine: "The wide brimmed sun hats, with the smart shallow crowns, and often simply stitched, are hats of importance this summer. If you're a spectator of the sports, you'll find them indispensable.
If you consider the beach your habitat for the summer, you'll wear them of linen in some of the gay Algerian colors to complement your beach pajamas. And if you're clever, you'll make your own."
Don't these just make you want to swan about the beach in glamorous 1930s resort wear?
