Howdy Peeps!

With Easter fast approaching, it felt like a great time to design a new Subscriber Exclusive MMMini Chick and Egg!!

Check out a little preview video HERE.

It has two face options included with Open Mouth and Closed Mouth poses!
This mini is 100% print-in-place, and requires no supports.  Its a quick and easy print that scales down very well.  I've included both regular and keychain versions as well. There are also a pre-painted 3MF for those who want to print the chick in multicolor!

The Egg includes an optional "Raised" top, which will allow for aligned gradient patterns across the entire egg. See This Video for more info and some other tips for the Egg print!

I hope you like it!
Matt

Pictured Prints use the following filaments***
(reference the numbered prints in last image of the gallery)

(1) Snapmaker Matte Yellow, Cookiecad Sunrise Mixer, Eryone Red Wax, Ziro Matte Black, Ziro Matte White
(2) Ziro Sunlit Petal, Overture Orange PLA+, Ziro Matte Black, Ziro Matte White
(3) Eryone Matte Macaron Rainbow
The White Egg was printed in BambuLab Matte Bone White

MMMini Chick Printing Info:

  • MMMini Chick (Closed Mouth & Open Mouth versions): Includes regular and keychain options. Print-in-Place.
    No supports needed.

  • Multicolor 3MF files: (For PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio, and Orca based slicers)

  • 10% Infill (I recommend Gyroid, Crosshatch or 3D Honeycomb)

  • 3 Walls. (Assuming 0.4mm nozzle. Adjust wall count to account for alternate nozzle sizes)

  • This should generally scale down to about 50% with full articulation, on a well calibrated printer. Your mileage may vary.

Egg Printing Info:

  • Egg Bottom: Print-in-Place

  • Egg Top: Print-in-Place.  Snap Fits to Egg Bottom

  • Egg Top Raised for Gradients:  A pedestal/pre-support raises the top to the correct height to create smooth gradients across the assembled egg.  Also great for when using filament swaps to add horizontal line patterns, or when using the egg as a “purge to” object!

The keychain and non-keychain versions are all in the same multicolor file. The two in the front have no keyring holes.

Any one have any tips for printing the raised tops ? Had 4 come off from the raised bit while printing. the base support is still stuck fast to the plate.

Hi! I just uploaded a new v02 with more of a lip on the pedestal and some anchoring to the Egg top. That should help secure the top during printing. Give it a try!
