3D PRINTING SETTINGS:

  • Body: Print in place

  • Head: Snap-fit to Body using Connector Head. There is a small custom brim around the head to help with adhesion. Remove and discard it after printing

  • Connector Head: Use to connect the heads to the neck.

  • Multicolor 3MFs: (Compatible with PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio, Orca based slicers)

  • Tool_ConnectorHelper: Simple tool to aid in inserting connector pins (see video)

  • No supports

  • 10%-15% Infill (I recommend Gyroid, Crosshatch or 3D Honeycomb)

  • 3 Walls. (Assuming 0.4mm nozzle. Adjust wall count to account for alternate nozzle sizes)

  • This should generally scale down to about 60% with full articulation, on a well calibrated printer.  Your mileage may vary.

How long does this take to print?

Can you create a 4 color design?

M
MatMire Makes · June 9, 2026

Sorry, I'm totally not sure what you mean. The 3MF is painted with 4 colors. If you want to change the coloring or rearrange how those colors are applied to the paint job, this video might help... https://youtu.be/ssI1wRx3ETw

Hi, why can't I change the turtle's eye color separately from its body color in Bambu Studio?

M
MatMire Makes · April 24, 2026

The 3MF is saved out with 4 color slots, since most multicolor printers are only capable of 4 colors by default. I chose to use the body color on the eye to keep it 4 colors. All you need to do is use the paint Fill tool to apply that 5th color to the eye. Here's a video I made that demonstrates some recoloring tips... https://youtu.be/ssI1wRx3ETw
