Exclusive: MMMini Spider!!

*** THIS FILE IS NO LONGER INCLUDED FREE WITH SUBSCRIPTION.
Members can purchase it once re-released, according to this Schedule.

Hi Everyone!

With the spooky season approaching, it felt like a great time to design a MMMini Spider!!

Add Magnets! I added magnet cavities inside the body segments so that you can add a pause command and drop them in while printing. For info on how to do that, see the PDF document in the download.

This mini is 100% print-in-place, and requires no supports.  Its a quick and easy print that scales down very well.  I've included both regular and keychain versions.  There are also a pre-painted 3MF for those who want to print it in multicolor!

Check out a little preview video HERE.

Hope you like it!
Matt

Pictured Prints use the following filaments***

PRINT SETTINGS:

For the Keychain versions. I used these Key Rings and Binder Rings

  • MMMini Spider: includes regular and keychain versions. Print-in-Place

  • Magnets: These models contain cavities for placing magnets during printing.  Please see the included instructions PDF. I used these Magnets for my prints (same as the bonus Fridge Magnet files)

  • 3MF multicolor files: 3MF File contains the Regular and Keychain designs. Delete the one you don't want to print (Compatible with slicers based on PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio, Orca.).

  • 3 Walls

  • 10% infill

  • These scale down really well. It typically works down to around 50% scale. Your mileage may vary.

I am wondering if the spiders typically take longer to print than the rest of the minis? I have printed 9 on one plate and it has taken over 24 hours, all the other minis I printed took around 15 for a full plate. I am fine if that is how long it should be but I am questioning myself wether I have done something in my settings by accident, but I'm pretty sure I just loaded them and hit print.

Hi! I joined Patreon last month and didn’t download the file when it was available 😭. I’m trying to reach out but the message button isn’t working. Is there anyway to get this file so I can print it before Halloween? When I joined I should have been able to download it with my subscription, I just lost track of time. I didn’t realize what day it would go away, and unfortunately, waiting for it to come out of the vault means that we would miss the holiday. I’m so sorry and I understand if I would have to wait! I’m kicking myself that I missed it. Anyway love your work and can’t wait to see what you release this month!🥰

Hi! I send out an email at the end of each month via MyMiniFactory, which allows you to redeem your files for that month into your MMF library. This is how you can get permanent access to all of your earned content. The invite is sent to the email you use for your patreon account. I just re-sent your invite for September. I'd say check your email for that invite, and let me know if you didn't get it (also check your spam folder in case it got filtered there).

Would 80% scale be a good size too sit on a tumbler? Or is that too small

W
Weronika · September 17, 2025

I just printed them today and love them. I didn’t realize they will be that big. If I scale them down to 50% I assume the magnets from 100% version would not fit? If I’m correct, what magnets would you suggest?

L
Layered_Legion · September 22, 2025

How big were they at normal scale?

A
Apryl Schescke · September 13, 2025

How many magnets do each take? Can you use the same size in the frogs?

M
MatMire Makes · September 13, 2025

Yes, the same magnets will work in the frog. The cavity is about 10mm wide x 3.25mm tall.

J
Jose Suarez · September 3, 2025

hi! could you give me access to the file that contains the negative cylinder? all my magnets are 3mm thick, so i would need to modify the spider so that my magnets can fit - it occurrs to me that it could be listed as one of the objects in the body of the file, so that bambu studio lets us modify that alone.

M
MatMire Makes · September 3, 2025

A 3mm tall magnet should fit fine in the cavity

I did my first market today and these mini spiders were a huge hit. I sold out. Thanks Mat!

If I decide to scale this up to 150% or something, will magnets still work? if so what magnet size will work for this scale? I hope that isn't a dumb question.

M
MatMire Makes · August 17, 2025

I haven't tested that, but the magnet strength is pretty strong at 100%, they might work at 150% using the same magnets. Otherwise, to find scaled magnet sizes, look for them to be the same scale factor. For example 10mm x 3mm x 150% would be a 15mm x 4.5mm magnet. If you can, find ones that size (or slightly smaller to be sure it fits).

my daughter absolutely ADORES the MMMinis! She adds a few to her classroom treasure chest every few weeks and the teacher loves them too! Any chance there could be a Quokka mini in the near future?

I love it I would like to put a magnet and scare someone with it

L
Little Red's Friends · August 9, 2025

this spider is so cute! I wish the original tarantula had legs connected like this. When the two keychain versions are mentioned, I can only see one. What are the two versions?

M
MatMire Makes · August 9, 2025

Sorry, the “two versions” was a typo.

C
Crissy · August 8, 2025

can you do external magnet like the frogs? my splicer Luban(i know, I know) doesn't support pause.

K
K-Factor Makes · August 18, 2025

your slicer might not, but if it creates a g-code file, you could add it in on any layer.

Update: I was able to get one printed in a dark purple filament and I'm so in love!! Making one for all the nieces and nephews for Halloween 🎃

J
Julie Pehotsky · August 7, 2025

what size are your magnet holes?

K
Krafty Kiwi · August 7, 2025

Definitely looks like the jumpy spiders we have in our house/garden!! So have to make one and see what our resident spiders think 😆

T
Thomas Nelson · August 7, 2025

What layer should I pause the print for the magnets

M
MatMire Makes · August 7, 2025

That’s going to depend on your print settings. I suggest checking out the PDF document in the download. I show how to pick the correct layer.

J
Jennifer Rackliff · August 7, 2025

I love this one so much! It reminds me of jumping spiders which are some of my favorite animals. I’ve been looking for a cute jumping spider looking print.

G
