Hi All!
Introducing my Flapjack Octopus design! The Flapjack Octopus is an adorable species of Umbrella Octopus, and close relative to the Dumbo Octopus. These cute fellas have swimming fins on their heads that look just like a set of ears. Unlike many other octopus species, the Flapjack only has one row of suckers on each tentacle.
I hope you like it!
Check out a quick Demo Video Here! (*I do encourage using a brim for this one, see the note below)
Cheers!
Matt
Pictured Prints use the following filaments***

Blue Multicolor: iSANMTATE Blue Purple, Ziro Sunlit Petal, Polymaker Charcoal Black, Polymaker Cotton White
Iridescent Multicolor: Polymaker Starlight Aurora, Polymaker Starlight Mercury, Voxelab Burnt Titanium
Orange/Yellow gradient: Ziro Peachy Sunrise
Rainbow: Rainbow Blaze

3D PRINTING SETTINGS:
Flapjack Octopus: Print-in-place. No supports needed.
Multicolor 3MFs: Compatible with PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio, Orca Slicer, etc.
10%-15% Infill.
3 Walls
*Brim recommendation: Due to the somewhat smaller bed footprint provided by the tentacle suckers, I would suggest using a brim to aid in bed adhesion. I recommend setting the brim gap distance to a value of around 0.25mm-0.3mm which will make the brim easier to remove (you may have to enable an Advanced menu set in order to access this setting).
This should generally scale down to about 60%-65% with full articulation, on a well calibrated printer. Your mileage may vary.

For some reason the image of the iridescent octopus won't load
Could I print this on my a1 mini at 100% size? I think the build plate is a little too small
It should fit the A1-Mini without any scaling down.
Mega great! We printed it on 66% with silk filament. Unfortunately 2 tentacles lose the tip, what could be the reason?
Hi! Tell me what I'm doing wrong because I can clearly see a darker spot between octopus eyes, the black filament is visible from under the orange filament. How to fix it?
That could be a few things… If you are using “flush to infill” I would turn that off. It saves very little filament, and can cause color bleeding. Your flushing volumes might be too low. Switching from black to a lighter color requires a lot of black to be purged from the nozzle before the next color will come out cleanly. Make sure that the colors you set in your slicer preview are as close to the actual filament color as possible for accurate flushing calculations. If your flushing volume multiplier is lower than 1.0 you might trying increase it a little bit. If your orange filament is somewhat translucent, you could be seeing the black anchoring that the slicer does to interlock the different color sections together. If that’s the case, you would need to find a more opaque orange filament.
This is probably my favorite thing ever! We didn't add a brim, we put purple Elmer's glue on our print plate and had no problem with adhesion. I try to avoid brim at all costs 😄
where can I find an Authorized Seller png for my listings?

has anyone printed this on a elegoo neptune 3pro??
a Koala would be awesome :)
Printing right now. It’ll be done by the time I get home from work. Awesome design, so glad I stumbled on your work over on Cults, by far the best articulated critters I’ve seen!
Please consider making an Atlantic Puffin
Ha! I was just coming here to ask for a Tufted puffin, different from the Atlantic one but would love it!
I printed cutie at 65% and it came out gorgeous. Perfect palm size.
Cute :)) Why does it have a hole in the bottom?
I'm guessing for 2 reasons. The first being it uses less filament, and 2, it's fun to spin the little guy on a pencil or pen. I should know, I've been doing it for the last 5 minutes.
We need a Maine coon !!!!
what software do you use?
Matt, I have to say, your models are by far the best and easiest to print out of any of the people I've subscribed to here on Patreon. Just with default settings, your models always print so beautifully.
Amazing!!!! I would love to see a mini of this one.
Could you please make a chameleon?
Can't post a pic here, but I printed it at 70% in silk and it came out fantastic. Remarkably posable. Fantastic work Matt. I'd never heard of this Flapjack dude before.
Awh, so super adorable! I'm making one to sit on my bathtub. LOL!!
