Motel Meth Bust (Clayton County Georgia)
I did a ride along with the Clayton County Sheriff's Office. This department uses the "proactive policing" method which works as follows.
Broken taillight -> pullover. Loitering -> pullover.
Once the person is apprehended for a minor violation, the police are looking for the smell of weed so they can do a full on search of the car.
It's controversial. Some people say it's necessary to use aggressive tactics in high crime neighborhoods. Others say it is merely tax payer funded harassment.

A cop pulled me over for a tail light out and basically saved my life. My addictions were out of control. I was basically living in my car. No job. Just doing enough cash jobs to get by barely. But 60 days in jail and been sober for 6 years now.
