馃ΝNot-Sims-Related: Released Seals back to the wild!馃Ν

As a lot of my followers probably love nature just as much as I do, I've decided to share something non-Sims related which I've experienced last month and which I thought was something very special; Releasing recovered seals back to the wild!

Some background info about the WEC Seal Center, which made this happen
Seal Center Pieterburen is a specialized Seal hospital in the North of The Netherlands, which you can visit. They work daily to rehabilitate weakened seals so that they can safely return to the Wadden Sea.

Releasing Seals Back to the Wild!
Me and my wife were invited for this event by friends of ours and it was one of the most beautiful things I've ever witnessed. These friends have been supporting the WEC: Seal Center Pieterburen for over a decade and during that time sponsored multiple seals. This way they helped getting lots of seals back to the wild.

Here some photos of the release:

One of them came back to the sand bank, before swimming away again.

We also visited a bigger group of seals nearby with the boat. I counted 69 of them!

For more info about the Release of Seals, take a look right here:

The Seal Hospital itself can also be visited. You can take a look at all 3 phases the seals go through. Starting in quarantine and ending in an outdoor pool just before being released to the wild.

Indoors:

Outdoors:

Outdoors, there was also this young grey seal named Django swimming around.
Django was found with a green net that was tightly wrapped around her neck. They were able to free her, but the injuries around her neck were too deep. Whenever the wounds have been healed, Django will return to the sea too.

At the WEC in Lauwersoog, they have a camera in every phase of care on which you can watch seals live:

My next post will be about The Sims 4 again! 馃槈

This really brightened my day! With so many horrible things happening in the US right now, I definitely needed a smile. Thank you!

Oh my god!! So adorable! I think you are not supposed to interact with them, but god, those faces would make it so hard.

Haha, that's definitely true. You're indeed not allowed touching them, but those big eyes and clumpy way they move makes them incredibly cute. ;)
