and how are you planning to convert it to the usable geometry?
good question, answer is sort of top-secret :D but ofcourse we will not use the full resolution any-time soon. We are making a complex mesh out of scan - around 100 million triangles, then we shrinkwrap more optimised new mesh with less triangles to the actual meshed scan with visual roads having a dense grid - this is for visual optimisation, then we plan to use more triangles for physical mesh but less than 100 million ofcourse. By doing this we get the most accurate track possible and we can later update it when pc's become even more powerful and/or graphic engines handle big meshes better. So in 2050 :D we will have full resolution perhaps, we are also taking pre-orders for quantum scanned Transfagarasan for 2100 (ofcourse joking on this one).
