NEW! Video Reference: Getting Dressed (Jeans & Button Up)

My Patron Bryant M contacted me about doing a series where I put on jeans and a button up shirt. I have been planning for a while to start doing video references, but I need to learn how to use the video stuff on my big camera.

In the meantime, here's a cell phone recording. The quality is prob not super amazing, but for reference it might be alright.

I planned to add video references to the regular Patron rotation when I hit 500 Patrons.

Would this sort of content be useful for any others?
Please let me know if this quality is too low for you and I can see about learning the other tech. (I hate learning new things haha I get so frustrated BUT I CAN TRY! 馃専 )

Also, feel free to leave your suggestions about other video content that might be helpful for reference!

Love how confused I look doing the buttons hahaha I don't really get dressed anymore :P

I used this as a reference of an art I did for a friend. https://www.instagram.com/p/CB_orPMpYRd/?igshid=1p4eswe4sgazs

Video references are awesome and this is amazing; there are little movements that people tend to do while in motion that get missed when posing for a photo(like shaking the pants out and un-tucking the shirt just enough). The quality of this video is also great as is.

I didn't have time to comment before now, but video would be an awesome addition to everything you already give us. I often search for references with a hint of motion, instead of a static pose, and a video might work great for that. It wouldn't necessarily even need to be super high quality, I think. 馃挆

I love this! Beyond being useful for all the reasons Mary listed, I often want the moment between two shots of a curated gallery; the awkward moments. And I also would like the addition of the collar fix, it's an intimate gesture and can act as a punctuation to a scene. I also would lave a side view of the action. As for other actions, mostly these sort of mundane type activities: sitting and getting up from chairs/couches/etc., cooking, getting in and out of a car and so forth. And finally, a way to download the videos for patrons? I try to avoid going online when working. Thanks!

Thanks for the ideas! Patreon doesn't have any way to upload video directly which is sort of annoying. :/ I don't know if I can attach it as a file, let me try.....

The quality actually looks really good. You can pretty much see all the details. The only problem I saw was you didn't fix your collar. :D Don't kill meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! This kinda stuff would definitely be useful if you know what you want your drawn character to be doing, but not quite sure which pose or movement would fit best in the scene. Or maybe if you want to show several frames of a character dressing (or performing any action), and need some help picking out frames that make sense but are evenly spaced out. Not sure if I'm making sense or not. Anyhow, looks good!!!!

The whole time I was rewatching this I was like, "And then I fixed the collar, right? Then I fixed it? Surely, at the end, I fixed... it.. nope." lol I was standing in front of a mirror but also I didn't have my glasses on 8D Glad it looks helpful either way! :D
