I've added a CC Report feature for easily sharing and assessing your CC builds. This is accessed via a new Construction Center button, which will grow with time to become your main point of access for Better BuildBuy's future settings, features, and help guides. Favorites have also received an improvement in behavior.
Added a Construction Center button to the filter panel. This will become the main hub for future Better BuildBuy features and options.
Added a CC Report option to the Construction Center menu, which will generate a list of all CC packages used in your current build.
The CC Report will open in your browser, and has an "Export Spreadsheet" option at the bottom, where you can add a column for links to the creators' CC pages.
Enhanced the favorites system so that favoriting a swatch variant won't require you to have that color selected in the filters in order to see the favorite. This was causing some players to mistakenly think the favorite hadn't been saved.
Color filters can still be used in favorites view to exclusively filter to the selected colors.

New to Better BuildBuy? This video will help you get started quickly.
Ever wanted to be able to pin the objects you use the most?
Better BuildBuy now has a favorites category that allows you to do just that!
Here's a quick start, in addition to the tutorial video above.
Features:
Easily favorite objects with your mouse middle click (track pads can usually middle click with 3 finger tap or by pressing left and right buttons simultaneously)
Favorites will stay even between mod versions.
Debug and LiveEdit categories will automatically turn on the corresponding filter if it's not on when selected. This will avoid the "my debug is empty" issue.
Inventory automatically turns on the debug filter if it's not on when selected, due to the frequency that debug objects end up in inventory.
Added Feature Update Notifications
Favorites Quick Start:
Middle (wheel) click your mouse on an object to mark it as a favorite. You'll see a teal bookmark appear when favorited.
Go to Browse by Function and set the dropdown to Favorites to show all of your favorited items.
While in favorites, you can middle click to mark the object for removal from favorites. This is indicated by a small red bookmark.
Removal is confirmed when you leave favorites or leave build mode.
Notes:
When you favorite an item in a category that has "new item" markers, they will be removed temporarily. This is necessary because of how the catalog recycles cells for each object. The new object markers will return when you change categories.
This currently works only on objects and not build items like floors, wallpapers, etc.
I have plans to expand this feature in the future, but feel this is a perfect starting point.

Better BuildBuy now detects if a player has left the mods list in the main menu turned on while having a large amount of mods, which can cause much longer load times unnecessarily. It will explain and offer to turn the list off for you.

Updated EA Desktop permission fix instructions.
v2.7.1 UPDATE: Anyone who has reinstalled TS4 using the new EA Desktop app may have ran into a UAC error when trying to turn on BBB's Organized Debug. This is due to EA Desktop's file permissions defaulting to read-only. v2.7.1 finally has an automatic fix for this, and BBB will fix the TS4 permissions on your behalf. If you have User Account Control turned on (the windows "are you sure?" messages), you'll be asked to allow "icacls.exe" to run. This is normal and is BBB attempting to repair your TS4 permissions for you. Click yes and BBB will be able to turn on Organized Debug without issue.
Originally designed for Create-A-World's Lighting Editor, the color wheel control for lighting is coming to Better BuildBuy.
It's still accessed via shift+clicking lights in build mode, but now the control includes complete control over the lighting color. For support with existing builds, the control still includes the EA preset swatches.
Yes, the lighting does share through the gallery.
No, the lighting does not make your build CC.

Welcome to BBB v2.5!
Two main changes - firstly, I've added MOO and Ignore Unlocks to the BBB options.
They can be found under the Organized Debug checkbox.
Secondly, my discontinued BuildBuy Deletion Fix mod has been renewed as part of BBB's features. For those unaware, this was a cheat that stopped BuildBuy from deleting anything, allowing you to make changes like wallpaper or modifying architecture without losing your objects. This is now an option in BBB's filter panel. Unlike the other options, it does not persist between sessions. This is intentional, as you should only turn it on while necessary and turn it back off immediately after. Undo may not work for anything you do with it on. You will also receive a pop-up when turning it on, reminding you of this. No, the pop-up is not negotiable, it's one extra click and is still much faster than typing the old cheat. Without it, our support team would be inundated with players asking why they can't delete objects.
Updates:
Added new "permission denied" error message for the few users who kept getting the desync message over and over, making the actual issue more clear to the user.
The two warning files inside the tmex-betterbuildbuy folder now delete automatically after first successful run, to reduce chances of player confusion
Added a MoveObjects toggle to the BBB filter options. Do NOT use the cheat anymore. Setting will persist.

New Features:
Having Organized Debug on no longer causes your lot to be marked as CC. That means you no longer have to restart the game constantly.
A Light Editor has been added to build mode, with a dropdown for light selection. You can access it by shift+clicking any light.
Debug/LiveEdit Objects for packs you don't own will no longer appear in the catalog.
"Kit" pack filters have been split into their individual kits, so you can pick exactly which kit you want to see.
Added a "Desync" dialog message. There's a few occasions where Organized Debug can be left in a bad state, for example after deleting your resource.cfg. This new dialog will show when organized debug needs reset. If you get it, all you should need to do is restart your game once and then you can continue using it as you normally would.

Better BuildBuy Quick-Start
You don't have to use Organized Debug for TOOL. Just don't check the filter.
Do NOT use debug or liveedit cheats. Use their respective filters instead.
Do NOT use MOO or Entitlement Cheats. Use their respective filters instead.
Do NOT install buildcam or expandable catalog separately. They're included in BBB.
Filters are different! Please don't ask where your CC went.
Filters work as follows: Hide Maxis - Hides all regular objects that aren't debug, liveedit, or cc. Debug - Shows debug objects, replaces the need for the debug cheat. LiveEdit - Shows LiveEdit objects, replaces the need for the liveedit cheat. Custom Content - Shows Custom Content objects. Off by default, be sure to check this if you want your CC visible. Filters stay set even when you close your game, so you'll only need to turn CC on once if desired.Press 1 (number row) to toggle catalog size.
Press Tab to activate Freecam mode in build.
If you'd like to use Organized Debug, open the game and open your buildbuy filters. Scroll to Better BuildBuy and select Organized Debug. You'll receive a pop-up and will be told to restart. After doing so, Organized Debug is active.
If you're completely new to BBB, I recommend watching my original tutorial.
Install Instructions
⚠ FOLLOW IT WORD FOR WORD. ⚠
1. Delete any existing copies you have for BBB.
2. Open the "TwistedMexi's Better BuildBuy v3.2.9 Official" zip and drag the "Tmex-BetterBuildBuy" folder inside to your mods root. (No subfolders!)
3. That's it! Don't restructure or move the files in any way NOTE: On Mac, .zip files may automatically be unzipped when downloaded. In that case, drag the newly downloaded folder to your mods.
Uninstall Instructions
Hate to see you go, but if you are, it's best if you do the following first:
1. Open your game with the mod installed.
2. Turn off Organized Debug in your filter panel.
3. Close your game.
4. You may now delete the mod.

Hi Patreon! The most up to date information will be on his Discord channel under announcements. Update from 3/9/25 stated due to recent changes with EA, BBB is still being updated. There is back end coding and logistics language that needs to be addressed due to the way EA makes changes. Happy Sim Simming!

I read this on the EA forums so don’t shoot the messenger just thought I could help, they posted: “After more farting around with my mod folder, I think deleting Resource.cfg and making the game regenerate it did the trick.” Then someone replied and said: “For removing all effects of BBB after removing the file, run a Game Repair.” I haven’t tried it but maybe it’ll work

Hi--not sure how best to get in touch, but since the January update I'm having weird, annoying flickers of the light and shadows in both build mode and play mode; it's not T.O.O.L., so I think it may be BBB? I'm on a Mac. I don't have other mods, so I'm at a loss. Help?

Hey TM, I was wondering if it might be possible for you to unlock all past event objects and CAS items? I mean so many of us just don't have the time to invest in gameplay that these events require, as I know for me, I like to create more than play, not to mention this isn't the only game I play and I do have a life besides gaming lol. But I feel cheated not having the stuff from past events, I mean all those collectible day of the dead skulls were in debug from the start, yet not more recent event items. It would be super to have them in game now though.

I cant get on discord so here is. The new patch messed up tools and better build buy thru UI Issues. impossible to read better build buy . Being my on UI mod. I removed Tools at it's latest version. UI got somewhat better. But went in to Betterbuild buy and UI is a mess. Can you please update . I have no printout. Just did it thru the old fashioned remove and see.
He won't even talk to his paying customers on this site. You have to talk to him on discord. He hasn't updated BBB since Oct 31 and so many different little mods are in there that I think it's bound to start causing problems. I can't get on discord either. I'll probably pull out of here. can't afford it.

You say to go to discord for help. I CANNOT post to discord at all. At first I had to change my password since I had not been there in a long time. Then it wants me to claim my account. I put in my email and the new password which it accepts and lets me in to my profile, but it will NOT let me claim my account and it says I will lose it. So I cannot post at all. No one answers me here. IF THERE IS ANYONE OUT THERE WHO WILL HELP ME, with Better buildbuy, if I take out the mod, saves and tray folders and reload the whole game, put in the BBB mod, add the other mods a little at a time, will my saves still work and will that straighten out any strange files? Hello Carol! Im so sorry youve been struggling with this. I just subscribed here so i could respond to you and hopefully help you (TwistedMexi only allows Supporters to comment, that is possibly why you have gotten no help from others) i deleted my previous comment because i sent it too early, oops. Before you try to change things, i would recommend for you to go into your Documents folder on your Mac, then Electronic arts, then Sims 4. You should see your "Saves" & "Tray" folder here (as well as your mods folder that you know already, it seems!) I recommend for you to make a copy of both of these folders to somewhere you can find easily, this way, you have a back up of your save files and builds, in case anything goes wrong! (if you ever reinstall for example, you could put these files back into your sims 4 folder and dont lose them! ) I saw you mention earlier that your BBB doesnt work correctly and your files are messed up, mentioning a long BE log that you got. Could you possibly try to describe what felt messed up with your files after you put BBB in, and what about it didnt work correctly? (for example, what did you expect to happen when you put BBB in, and what didnt happen.)
I have a new MacBook Pro and I'm only using it for Sims4 right now and I've used it and all the packs, kits, stuff, mods, cc, etc...for 10 years now. However, for some reason I cannot get BBB to work correctly and all my files are now messed up and making me crazy and my 66 yr old mind can't take it anymore. I have a BE a mile long. Please HELP me. Step by step instructions written down are best for me. Discord is foreign to me. Videos are not useful for my brain. Thank you so much!

I just wanted to inform you that for the last week I have been testing all my mods and CC to see what my issues (game related) are and I keep getting the same red banner error that TOOL, pose player, smarter pie menu, and better build buy may need updates (there's one more but that's another creator) No rush, always, especially because life and health ALWAYS come first! I tried getting help at your Discord. I downloaded the zip to my downloads folder. Extracted it to my Mods folder and dragged the Tmex folder out to my mods. Please let me know what I am doing wrong. I have tried to get this to work 9 times.
have you tried unzipping it right when you download it and dragging just the unzipped file into ur mods

Twisted Mexi, first: hope you fully recover from Covid! And thank you for your info on new updates. I'm purely a builder in Sims 4, so without your mods I wouldn't even be playing Sims 4.
I don't know if this is an known issue but the color settings for lights are buggy and triggers better exceptions. If it's already known but hard to fix, would you also offer a version without the wheel? I really love your mod and since it has become a must-have for me it gets quite annoying with time, deactivating and reactivating the mod frequently
I've been sick with covid so the update has been slow but I just tweeted earlier that the update is coming tomorrow
Hi Mr. Mexi, thanks for taking the time to respond to me on the other post! Sadly I'm still having the "Incorrect BetterBuildBuy Installation" error with v3.3 as well. The mod is in the root mods folder with no subfolders and script mods are turned on. It's no longer giving me the error message when BBB is not present in the folder, so that's progress at least. Let me know if there's something you recommend trying next, or if there's a more official help forum, and thanks for all the work you do!!

Hi there, firstly, just want to say, I absolutely LOVE your mods, thank you for all you do for the community and getting this out sooo fast! Secondly, I am almost 90% sure it's me doing something wrong but since this L&D update I am having some trouble saving things to my favourites folder? Two examples of this are 'The Perfect Pillow' and the 'Casual Comfort Pillow'. I have added them to my favourites but they do not appear in my favourites folder? I have tried favouriting them in the default swatch and a different swatch (as I read your release notes), still not appearing. I saved and reloaded, repaired and re-installed mods, nothing is working. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? Thanks so much xo

hi and thank you so much for your time and effort into these mods, i just want to report that i believe BBB is throwing an error out when trying to change the color of ghosts. i have better exceptions installed as well, and received a last exception when trying to change the color of a ghost, BE told me that BBB was a plausible cause. i did test this by taking BBB out and retrying to change the color, which was successful. again thank you so much for the effort you put in here! sorry if this isn't the right spot to report this to you.
Hi! I love this mod, but ever since the update, I can't properly edit the color and intensity of lights in live mode. The pop up is glitchy and the color selection doesn't work at all. 😭
