Update: The Return of the Ding

Hello everyone, I hope you've been well!

It has been a chaotic two months for me, but things are winding down, and I think I'll properly be back at full steam starting in February.

Previously, I gave you all a vague explanation of things, and now I feel alright to give you some more details as to why my work has been so sporadic.

It's not necessary, but if you want to know more, then continue reading on.

TLDR;

  • December; family affairs and sick for most of month

  • January; Grinding away at commissions and mini-vacation

  • Tight finances for most of the two months

  • Coming months; getting back to work, including rewards, commissions, comics.

  • Goal for 2026; Return of Cup O' Love (for real this time)

  • Planning restock of most popular print comics (Let me know your favorites!)

December

In the very start of December, we had a passing in our family, so my spouse and I traveled to take care of family affairs for the first half of December. It was a lot, and every day was busy with something important to do. It also was financially draining as well, which just added to the stress of things.

When I returned home from travel, I fell ill with a viral fever that had me bedridden for a whole week. (Not Covid, so I'm thankful for that at least.) But that also took me away from work and had me in the ER for a bit, which also incurred a large cost, but my health insurance is decent enough to leave me with a big bill but not a crazy big bill.

Because I was sick, I missed seeing family for the holidays because I didn't want to get anyone sick, especially another family member who had a pretty bad case pneumonia. (They're ok now, so no worries.)

All in all, the whole month left me fairly broke and in need of taking on more commissions.

January

January, has been WAY less stressful than December was, that's for sure!

To start, I spent the part of the month completing some overdue commissions, and I'm still working on them as well. I want to get them all done as quickly as possible, so things have been slow on the comic side of things because of it.
Also, throughout this time, I was babysitting a couple of new family members and helping out their parents. :)

The next part of the month, I spent making more HiBaP pages for Slipshine, and then getting on a plane to fly to internationally for a wedding, and have just returned yesterday. Luckily I didn't have to pay anything, so that was nice. ;p

For the past months, finances have been tight, and it was stressful. But, thankfully, a boon had finally arrived in the form of life insurance.
So I'm not hurting as bad for stability as I was earlier. Now it's just a process of paying off debts and favors while maintaining our lives as best as I can.

The Coming Months

I have a lot to do.

First, there is the Variety comic. I need to get a few pages out, make your pledges worthwhile and delivery on this Patreon's purpose.

Next, there are a few months worth of Patron Sketch Rewards to fulfil, and I will devote time to doing so soon. Once I am ready, I will do some streams for them.

In the meantime, if you are waiting on the call to send in your higher tier sketch rewards, do so now, even for the months I've missed!
Just make sure to make them each separate and label them for the month owed please! Do not combine them into one email, it helps me track things better!

Then, there is also the current commission queue as well, which I've made some progress on and will continue to do so as I can.

Finally, I really, REALLY, for real, get back to making Cup O' Love the webcomic.
That's my big goal for the year. Just properly jump back in to the story and continue on with new chapters and characters, giving Mya and Janet a renewed life together.

Also, I will try to restock my more popular print comics when I can as well. So if You have a request for a particular one, just let me know!

---

Well that about sums up everything that's been going on with me. I know it's ok to share this stuff, I just wasn't ready yet.

Thank you to everyone who stayed and supported me here during all of this mess, I literally couldn't make a living without you all here. I truly appreciate it.

Love you all,

Dsan

I'd love to be able to get a print of Perverted 2! Also I know it's too early to have now, but I'd love a print version of My PCP when it's finished. Especially if we can get the pre-edits version that way too 😏
