timestamps if you wanna skip around:
00:00 - intro
01:19 - video concept
04:04 - production stuff (set building, prop making, special effects)
12:50 - filming (working with an actor, backwards dialogue, pre-vis)
18:23 - chapter titles (plotter machine)
20:15 - Serious Talk (burnout, channel future, its-not-as-serious-as-it-sounds)
33:13 - fun secret project bonus thing (as a treat for sitting through the Serious Talk)

hope everyone is doing well, thank you for your patience and support.

I’m basically reiterating what everyone here is saying, but I’m a patron here because I believe in your artistic vision, and I appreciate what you create. Your work is something special, and I would rather you take the time to marinate on an idea than create things you don’t feel inspired by simply to get content out there. As someone who suffers from depression, I can completely understand where you’re coming from. I would remain a patron here for one video a year because I believe in you and your ability to create something special. The honesty is also so refreshing. Thanks for everything you do. :)

I may be late to the party, but I just wanted to say that you're not alone. My creative endeavours recently have felt like a job, and not a pleasant one--poetry and fiction--and I don't quite know what to do about it. I like your solution of just trying to live life. That sounds like a much healthier way to do things. In other words, thank you for speaking your piece, and for doing what you do. I've always been happy with what you create, and that won't change. I'm here for what you enjoy creating, not because I'm demanding a product.

something i thought about when you were talking about other media that the creator intentionally made something to force introspection of the viewer, is the end of the original season of evangelion.

Take a mental break Mr. Jeff. Your art is always going to look amazing everytime whenever we get to see your new creation being made. We all appreciate what you make. Just remember to not to push yourself to much, otherwise that's a long way to burnout.

In England, we also call your twig-trimming tool "secateurs". As for the heavy stuff, I'm also a patreon for BOM's Project Binky, so if I get a new video every six months, I'm a happy bunny. I'm here because I really love your channel so please keep doing what you do, and don't sweat the timescales: I'm not going anywhere 🙂

I support artists on Patreon less because I need a 'product' and more because I think artistic creation should be a dignified way to make a living, and artists should be able to create what they want without fear of monetization or algorithmic support. I'm never sitting around going 'when is the next vid coming out, I pay money for this!' because honestly I have a lot going on! When I get to experience art I've helped support, it's always awesome. But it will always be *more* awesome when the artist feels happy in their work and feels like they made what they wanted to make, not what they HAD to make. Keep on rocking! This recent vid was so amazing :)

For the tool at 9:00 I think I'd just call those "clippers". If you had the really long ones I call those loppers 😂 Re: the heavy stuff, even normal jobs come with vacation. It sounds like a break was definitely needed, mental health comes first. Im here for the art :)
