Mod: Archery Skill
Updated 8/20/25: Updated for minor animation bugfix.
Sul sul! This mod adds an archery skill to the game. It comes with 5 kinds of bows, 5 kinds of arrows, and 2 kinds of targets, each available in 3 distances. All objects are low-poly and have multiple swatches. Equip a bow or arrow by moving it into your Sim's inventory and clicking on it.
As your Sims increase their Archery Skill, their accuracy will improve and they will learn to craft objects at the Woodworking Table. When Sims practice, they may use up arrows from time to time, so they can make their own! Sims can also play against each other and win or lose according to their luck and skill level.

Level 1 - Practice Archery on the Short Distance Target
Level 2 - Discuss Archery
Level 3 - Practice Archery on the Medium Distance Target and Craft Iron Arrows at the Woodworking Table
Level 4 - Craft Steel Arrows at the Woodworking Table
Level 5 - Watch and Learn from other Sims, and Craft Basic Bows
Level 6 - Practice Archery on the Long Distance Target and Craft Recurve Bows
Level 7 - Craft Knotted Bows and Rustic Arrows
Level 8 - Craft Lightweight Bows and Lightweight Arrows
Level 9 - Craft Ornate Bows and Ornate Arrows
Level 10 - Mentor other Sims in Archery

Installation
Unzip and drag the "JS_Archery" folder directly into your mods folder. There should be a script file, a few package files, and subfolders with the objects and sound effects.

this might be causing a save error? I only have 3 mini mods atm. This and zero sword fights, with some infant cc hairs

Hello! I placed the bow/arrows into my sims inventory, placed down the hay target and when i click the target nothing happens, or when i click on the bow/arrows in the inventory theres no option to use it or anything. Can anyone help? Thanks!

i usually cheat it using ui cheat or mccmd (just like any other skills)

Hey, I ran into an issue, the archery stuff doesn't show up in the crafting menu of the woodworking table for me, despite having almost maxed out my handiness skill, did I miss something?

Hello, just to confirm, if we have both archery and marksmanship should we delete one of the JS Hunting packages? It is being flagged as a duplicate by BE currently so I wanted to check to make sure.
Oh yes! You only need one in your game, but they're exactly the same so if you have both it won't harm anything. :)

How do I send sims hunting w the archery mod? I have not figured it out, do I also need to add the marksmanship mod?
Hi, sorry I should have made it clearer in the mod description. In Buy Mode you can place an object called Hunting Spot - that is where you can hunt.

"Practice Archery on the Medium Distance Target " Regardless of their level, my Sims cannot access the Medium or Long Distance Targets. The just shrug as if they cannot get to them.
With the latest update, my child sims are stretching when they do archery.
