This. This episode was the only gripe I had with the show, because Tsukasa's prediction of an automobile is way too convenient. I can see the hand of the author, coming in to create tension by having Tsukasa prepare for the tank. It's the one thing I'm iffy about with the show. The rest? Love it. Tsukasa predicting a tank? Wild leap.

Those mesh tires are called Superelastic Tires. They were designed by Nasa for rover planetary exploration. They needed something durable, as relying on air to keep the tires shape would be catastrophic for the mission if a puncture occurred. None were used on other planets yet, but they do work, deforming and returning to their original tire-shape as it drives over big rocks due to the way they're meshed together, but not just that, the atom bonds of the material used (a nickle-titanium alloy) is extremely elastic, so the atom structure changes shape with force rather than breaking. So it's basically an elastic metal, hence "Superelastic Tires."

To answer the question of what would likely survive from our period would be things made from glass, ceramics, gold jewelry, brick/stone, and certain plastics potentially. Depends on climate and environment though. The reason why our pavement doesn't "last" is because of a few things. Its usually handling factors more weight over shorter times as things like trucks drive over it. Cement cracks more easily than the types of stones used for building, which allows for water to erode it quicker. And budget/logistics play a big role, if you don't have proper time, skill, and money to build a road, good chance that it becomes rushed and you get subpar quality. The tradeoff to using concrete over stone though is that, when combined with rebar, it can withstand more pressure, both compression and tension, than stone while also being more flexible. It's also just logistically cheaper to use paving material than natural stone. Sorry to type alot. Media like this show has gotten me really interested in logistics and world building. I'm really glad you guys are likeing the show!

To answer your question about what from our time will survival in 3000 years, you actually already saw an example from Dr Stone! Remember the Bronze Buddha statue from episode 3? It mostly intact (Before Senku took it apart for its raw material...)
