Do Unlimited Blade Works next and then Heaven's Feel movies. The OG Fate route from DEEN is alright for diehard fans but you can skip it.
Artoria is the perfect king. Couldn't have done better. Though if you ever read the first route of Fate/Stay Night you'll see that it isn't the same writer. Kinoku Nasu wrote Fate/Stay Night. Fate/Zero was written by Gen Urobuchi. F/SN was written first, but Urobuchi still couldn't write Artoria properly. The kingdom of Briton was destined to fall too no matter what Artoria did.
Angra Mainyu, or later Ahriman, is the force of evil and destruction in persian Zoroastrianism. Many historians and theologists believe that it heavily influenced the jewish/christian concept of the devil. It is known to lead humans astray through deception and lies. Ahriman was occationally depicted as a serpent that enters the good creation to poison the world and bring desease and death. It is said to hold reign over an army of demons and false gods that will be defeated in the final days. But that's the original concept, fate's Angra Mainyu is very different.
little bit of context, the grail never fullfiled a wish, when kiritsugu ordered the destruction of the grail, angra mainyu tried escaping and failed, resulting in the cursed mud spilling into the city, the reason gil got a new body is pure coincidence, the mud would have done the same to any servant that got engulfed in it (he was just the last one)
Christians that are unaware of Zoroastrianism? A tale as old as time I suppose. Hehe
i think there's something you failed to understand if kiritsugu went ahead with his wish everyone would die until only him and his wife and daughter are still alive thus no more conflict on earth him killing the dream version of them is him refusing to sacrifice 6 billion people for their sake thus he sacrificed the only possible way he'll ever have to get his wife and daughter back (since irisviel is already dead and as you know from the final episode and from stay night kiritsugu was never allowed to meet ilya again because of the einzberns so he basically did kill his wife and leave his daughter for the sake of saving the world
Guys please watch demon slayer movie
To clarify the last scene with Artoria, that is the moment in her life she was summoned from. This is the immediate aftermath of the modded rebellion when she is wounded fatally. Seeing the death and destruction around her, she makes a pact with Alaya(collective consciousness of humanity), therefore being recorded into the throne of heroes and being able to show up in a Grail war. She is unique in the fact that unlike all other servants that are only summoned once they are dead, she is summoned from a point where she is still alive. That is the reason she cannot enter spirit form (dematerialise & materialise) as a servant. All other servants can enter spirit form. Another consequence of this is that [SPOILER], which most other servants can’t.
What is required to watch this? All I see is a black screen. Actually when looking around. All videos do not work. What is required to make Patreon work? I disabled script blockers but that still did not fix it. Edit: I figured it out. This site does not work on Brave Browser.
love it
The happiest character at the end on Fate Zero was Waever
after zero I guess you can watch 3 timelines that were made. The Artoria storyline called fate/stay night, the Rin storyline called unlimited blade works, and the Sakura/Ilya story called heavens feel which is more in line with the vibes of fate zero. If youre asking which is the right timeline the answer is yes.
The thing at the end with the Holy Grail was because it got corrupted by Angra Mainyu (Angry Mango as we call him) from the earlier war. which will be further explained in the visual novel, Fate/Hollow Ataraxia. PS. I recommend watching El Melloi, as it follows a grown-up Waver and his life in the clock tower
Fun twisted factoid: The episode where Kiritsugu killed Natalya, aired on Mother's Day, while episode 24—where Kiritsugu had to "kill Illya and Irisviel", aired on Father's Day.
Had Kiritsugu accepted the Grail, he would have been turned into some super-Kiritsugu and teleported to battlefields to cull the weaker side in each conflict before it can start for all of mankind's future, fulfilling his wish of 'no more wars'. It would just enable him to do more of what he's already doing, on a grand scale and forever. That's the point of the 'boats' vision. His wish is fulfilled, but it's his own personal hell where humans still die violently. That's why it's a scam.
Fate Zero is a prequel. You have to keep it in mind. It's like watching episodes 1 2 and 3 of starwars before the original trilogy
Yall need urgently to stop pausing it so much in the middle of a scene and let it played out more before making comments on a half full story bat that you would gain more context if you waited 10 more seconds before pausing. Some pauses here were diabolical
5th and final Shirou Hero of Justice Emiya is the absolute GOAT. Thats the message. Be well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hG05FVGQL9Q
4th Part The 1st Grail war, Had no command spells yet, and it just fizzled out. A better organization was due for the second atempt. The Second one in 1860, Was a bloodbath. A lawless affair with no victor again. The organizers decided to get help from the church to mediate future Grail Wars. The third one takes place in 1939. And is the one with Angra. The Grail's corruption turns it into a twisted machine of catastrophe. It changes the outcome of wishes into pure destruction, taints the pool into toxic black mud, and warps the Servant summoning system. Originally, a rule was stated only heroes could be summoned, but from the corruption onward, the grail can now summon Anti Heroes and even villains.
3rd part During the 3rd Grail war, the one before Re Zero, the Ainzberns, were cheaters, and decided to summon a servant outside of the normal 7. THe class Avenger. THinking they would summon some badass cheat servant. Instead they got Angra Mainyu. The Satan of Sumarian Religion. However, in Fate universe, all religions are cannon (yes, even ours), But their lore is not 1 to 1. Angra, in this verse, wasnt THE all evils of the world. Instead, he was a boy, from a sumerian tribe, picked as a sacrife. All evils we can imagine were done to him. They believed that by doing this, no evil would enter the rest of the sumerians. Hence all the worlds evil. Angra went mad, and died cursing them. He is his own character and stuff, that I wont get into. As he was just a kid who got tortured, he was a horribly weak servant. Got killed off, and return to the grail to become mana like every servant does. However, his anger and will were so strong and so evil, it tainted the grail. Becoming cursed. After that, every grail war, the grail is cursed, and is ruled by Angra Mainyu and his wish to be born and end the world that tortured him to death. This is a background reason why no wish is granted with out a Evil twist. Emiya wants to save the world? Maybe originally it could do that. Not now. Now it can only do that by an evil way. Kirei wish? Destruction and wicked. Manifest as a fire that destroyes a city.
2nd Part The grail ritual would choose people capable of magic that have a wish to realize, and those could do a ritual to summon a heroic spirit. Heroic Spirits are people of renown, good or evil, engraved in the collective unconsious. They can be from present, past and future. Masters use items tied to the legend to get a servant they want. Otherwise the grail will summon someone who is compatible (like Caster been compatible with that serial killer). U picking up with an item, can get a hero powerfuil like Gilgamesh, but that is incompatible with you like Saber with Kiritsugu, or Gilgamesh with Tokiomi. Power but at a cost. If the grail choses for you, you may get someone far weaker then your opponents, but that someone will be compatible with you, making the fighting, planning, and everything that involves that relationship, far easier on both parties. Also, the original goal, to reach the root, requires ALL SEVEN servants to die, BUT if your wish, was something far simpler, you dont need the mana of all seven servants. Just enough for the grail to manifest and wish away, like a ton of money, or knowledge in a certain field. That way, a servant, and a master, can get 2 reasonable wishes if say, u destroyed 6 out of seven. In a different reality, a mage smart enough to realize this, had a grand plan, that would require a huge amount of mana, to realize. But instead, wished for cold hard cash to achieve his goals the boring way. It takes years, and a lot of cash, but eventually he got what he wanted. No need to deal with cursed grails.
1st Part To add context, this is NOT stated directly anywhere in FATE anime adatations, only on the actual video game and its sequel. A little back story, True Magic equals making reality BEND to your will through mana usage, AKA miracles, making 1+1=3, whatever you want to achieve, even true immortality. Thats lost to time during our modern age, mages use Magecraft. Aka Spells, very limited, and use specific stuff. Mage craft is considered fast food slop, Magic (true magic) is Wagyu beef from a 10 star chef. Only like 10 characters or less, currently alive can do that. Reaching the root of magecraft, allows the mage to get access to that. But the world WILL stop you (it has anti bodies and agents to stop humanity from achieving something that obviouslly dangerous. We are lucky the like, 3 people who can use it, are either too bored, or too wise to do anything stupid with that True Magic they have! That is why hundreds of years ago, the 3 great families created the Holy grail ritual, a ritual to kill 7 servants, aka things FULL OF MANA, gather that mana into a vessel (the grail) and use that mass of mana to grant a wish. It cannot grant miracles, but it can do prety much anything else, after all, with the gigantic amount of mana, you can do a LOT! Even opening a whole leading to the Root of Magic and obtain true magic! And that was the Original goal.
The best way to continue is with the 2014 adaptation of Fate/Unlimited Blade Works (Fate UBW), followed by Fate/Heaven's Feel (Fate HF). These adaptations were produced by the same studio that animated Fate/Zero. Fate/stay night (2006) is generally considered a weaker adaptation, and it also contains spoilers for both the UBW and HF routes. To preserve the mystery and get the best viewing experience, you can watch the series in this order: 2.1. Fate/Unlimited Blade Works (2014) 2.2. Fate/Heaven's Feel (film trilogy) 2.3. Fate/stay night (2006) (optional)
Guys please react to demon slayer infinity castle ASAP
Demon Slayer Infinity Castle movie is out for streaming guys, hoping you react to it ❤️
As someone deeply down the Nasuverse rabbit hole, I say this with no spoilers - you should finish watching Unlimited Blade Works, then put yourself through the Heaven's Feel 3 movies. I think there's a valid argument to make that the Heaven's Feel route is the better fitting sequel to Zero's character emphasis and tone, but you need Unlimited Blade Works context to appreciate all of Heaven's Feel. I also just want to say I applaud you guys for watching Fate. Very very few reaction channels touch it, and you guys really paid great attention to detail and nuance throughout your reaction. This was my first exposure to you guys, and now I'm here to stay.
Loved Strange/Fake, can't wait for them to get to it.
I feel like Heaven Feel Movie is the best for next series, because it got a lot of illya scene and Sakura scene (cuz they love em both)
The thing with skipping the fate route is that, if you do, you'll never understand saber's character. It's kind of unfortunate it only has a dated and low budget adaptation because it's really the core of the fate series.
It's a true shame the Fate route of Fate/Stay Night was not done well, and doesn't have a remake yet. It is the simplest route, of the story, but is also the one where we get to actually meet Saber well, she gets to have a happy ending in it, but even that epilogue has no adaptation.
And since you guys are religious and you picked up on some of this in earlier episodes, here’s a short breakdown of the biblical references in Fate Zero. You called it on Gil. His role parallels Satan in the Garden of Eden. Gil is summoned with a snake skin and his role in the story is to push Kirei into understanding his evil nature, often times while chatting over a couple glasses of wine. In other words, the snake in the garden tempting man with knowledge via forbidden fruit. Meanwhile Fate Zero teases the possibility of Kiritsugu being the Antichrist. We never hear about Kiritsugu’s mother, as though he didn’t have one. Contrast with Jesus and the virgin birth. Kiritsugu has his ribs ground up into 66 bullets. This parallels Jesus stabbed in the ribs on the cross, and of course 66 is one 6 short of 666. Kiritsugu’s command spells look like a cross, or an upside down cross, depending on perspective. He says he’ll commit all manner of evil to save the world, and with his wish he would end all violence and bloodshed by exterminating all human life on the planet. This is what a dark messiah would do. It doesn’t hurt that he has adversarial relationships with a catholic priest as well as Saber, who as King Arthur is herself a Christ-like figure (she can walk on water, King Arthur is the “once and future king” of Britain, she lived and died for her people). Of course, Kiritsugu rejects this final temptation, sacrificing his desires to save humanity. Kiritsugu is also cursed by the grail as he rejects it, leading him to wither away and die over the next five years. In fact, the conversation Kiritsugu has with Shirou at the end of the series are likely Kiritsugu’s final moments on earth.
If you want to continue i would say its safe to go for Unlimited Blade Works series, skipping OG anime (2006). Reason why most people skipped it is pretty simple, there is no point in watching OG series. Its primary purpose was to introduce us Saber, Kirei, Gilgamesh and show us what holy grail war is and how it works. If you watched Zero - you already knew everything. And the other reason is - this series is frankenstein monster. They took first rout of original game as a basis and poorly mixed it with parts from second and third rout and add some fillers (that means spoilers for 2 and 3 rout adaptations). So yeah, its safe to go directly for Fate Stay Night [Unlimited Blade Works] after Zero
23:32 I don't if anyone say it yet but this episode drop on Father's day in Japan btw lol
There are some parts about the end of the grail war that need cleared up. No one won the war. The war ended when saber destroyed the grail. However, because the grail had already gained form, destroying it caused the contents of the grail, which is basically liquid evil, to spill out. While Kirei takes joy in the suffering of others, his wish did not cause the disaster. That moment is the culmination of Kirei’s journey of self discovery, where he fully embraces his true, evil self. Gil did not wish for reincarnation. That was just a side effect of being drenched in the grail mud. As for Saber, her wish heading into the war is to redo her reign so she can prevent the fall of her kingdom. By the end, she wants to undo her kingship completely so someone “more worthy” will be king instead. Saber is an exception among servants. She’s not a heroic spirit, because she isn’t dead. She’s alive. When the war ends she’s returned to the end of the Battle of Camlann, where saber lost and her kingdom fell, until she’s summoned again to other grail war. She continues this loop until she either wins or gives up the grail. And for saber, this is a giant catch 22. The author of fate has stated that saber was the ideal king and that even though her kingdom fell under her leadership, what happened was still the best possible outcome. She couldn’t have done it any better, and anyone else leading would have led to greater disasters. So if saber ever wins the grail and makes her wish, she’ll be doing Britain to an even worse fate.
Can’t wait for the unlimited blade works reaction.
The Grail appeared before Kiritsugu and not Kirei right there because it basically declared Kiritsugu the winner of their fight a moment before it actually concluded. And also, Kiritsugu really did destroy the Grail, otherwise it would have been way worse if Kirei also got to make a wish with it whole.
The part I don't get is why the Grail concluded the war was over when Saber and Archer still lived. Doesn't it need all seven to die to be powered up? Is it because it had leftover energy from the previous war?
this anime is so philosophical and profound, can't you believe that this franchise is an erogame at its core? haha
Not even a fair label, regardless of what regulations demanded. It's a LONG VN to get through and it has a handful of H scenes. This is like saying Top Gun is a porno.
fate serieis is basically a dating sim. with different routes.
Episode 24 premiered on Fathers Day...
1. Fate/Zero 2.A. Fate/Stay Night 2.B. Fate/Unlimited Blade Works 2.C. Fate/Heavens Feel (three movies) 3. All of the spin-offs in whatever order you want The order of 2.A/B/C doesn't matter. They are all different versions of the story post Fate/Zero. Most skip Fate/Stay Night as it's the oldest and is considered to have the weakest story out of the three. You could even watch the spin-offs first, though you'd be confused since they don't really reiterate the rules of the Fate world. The spin-offs expect you to know the basics of servants, their classes, and the grail. Other than that you don't need to know any of the plot from the mainline series. To add onto that, My favorite of the spin-offs are FGO: Babylonia and Fate/Apocrypha. The plot of Apocrypha is whatever IMO but it has one of the best soundtracks in all of anime. EDIT: Anyone that thinks you can skip 2007 but also thinks there's some kind of watch order between the main 3 routes, is an idiot.
The order actually matters. Even in the visual novel, you start with Fate route and end with Heaven's Feel. The elements and reveals from Fate route are carried over to the other routes but not explained in those routes. Similarly, the reveals from UBW are carried over to Heaven's Feel but not explained in Heaven's Feel because it expects us to already be aware of them.
29:17 : Such a great point after all Kiritsugu's Origin something that describes your essence and life and the very foundation of his magecraft is literally called "Severing and Binding". His ability to sever his emotions—the immense sorrow of his losses—allowed him to make the cold, rational decision to kill perfect replicas of his loved ones. It also prompted him to refuse to use the alternative presented by the grail as an illusion that would give meaning to the lives and people he sacrificed in his journey. While they did die so that he could reach the Grail, they did not die for that kind of wish. Yet that wish perfectly encapsulates the way Kiritsugu had lived his entire life, making him uniquely vulnerable to its temptation. I mean, most people, after going through everything he had, would willingly ignore the distinction and make a wish regardless, even if the one wish they are left with didn't literally define their way of life. In that last episode, Kiritsugu severs himself from his own lifelong ideology. He abandons the pragmatic, utilitarian philosophy that justified every atrocity he committed, returning to his roots, to his initial goal, even though it’s now back to being unattainables This self-betrayal is entirely within his character I believe the boy he saves at the end, embodies the "Binding" aspect of his Origin. The life that is severed—the people that died, the threads of love, hope, and innocence that were sacrificed—all of that can never be restored. Just as a cut thread can never be perfectly whole again, the only thing left to do is to try and bind it anew. By saving the boy, Kiritsugu binds himself to a new purpose, freed from the crushing burden of pursuing a miracle that was never meant to be. He once again values the individual lives he had previously deemed worthless for the sake of a grand ideal. As Saber once said, her only words that truly striked a cord with Kiritusugu, is that he was once an innocent boy dreaming of saving the world while staying virtuous and honorable in doing so but that he fell into immense despair upon learning and experiencing the world, wars and human nature. He was dlisuned with himself and understood that what he wished for as a kid was by all measures extremely naive especially when you consider that even without any moral shackles he failed to achieve world peace, but there is nobility and beauty in that sort of innocence. In that moment where he saves that boy, he reverts to his younger self—his more righteous, idealistic self who dreamed of saving the world. He severs himself from the cruel mercenary who discarded life as a commodity, and in doing so, binds himself back to the boy he once was. And while he could never be the same because such is the nature of binding , he finds some peace not in saving the world, but in saving that one person.
Yes. The timeline continues to Fate/Stay Night. Which technically has 3 anime adaptations based on the 3 routes in the Visual Novel. Everyone skips OG Fate/Stay Night to just watch Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade works & Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's Feel. Which all 3 anime adaptations are Canon to the timelime & stoey regardless of which one you watch next. Do expect that all 3 anime adaptations will treat characters differently depending on their importance for each story. I watched OG Fate/Stay Night, Fate/Zero, Fate/Stay Night: UBW, and then Heavens Feel when I first watched this series. Also, a lot of lore for certain groups, characters, and concepts get fully explained in other works tied to the fate franchise. Ps: Keiri does have a child but she appears in later fate works. Yes, he did have a wife and she did take her own life.
Not everyone skip og But Most, I don't skip Fate route
