"respect your seniors, mock your juniors" | bts' lesson on respect by boracity magazine

kind of a left field reaction request but bts on hello counselor is a throwback but it is so good to watch
Would LOVE a reaction to Boracity’s (pronounced Bora City, aka purple city) video on BTS’ military enlistment and how rare it is in k-pop—despite the concept seeming like a no brainer. I was already aware of the lengths BTS went to to pull off what they did, but I love seeing you guys and others understand a bit more of Korean society/the kpop industry through such videos It’s called “the bts military strategy and the ones who discredit it”. Here’s the link as well: https://youtu.be/TCO2DpvF3zE?is=TsT9y8Bfz3PgDvk3
Hi guys , just a heads up , for the normal music video there’s like a 1 second extra clip in the explicit version mv on Spotify compared to the normal mv on YouTube !!
20:12 yes exactly i think that’s why they also don’t go to after parties events. they’re all mean girls events and the thing is they get treated the same whether it’s here in american or korea
They went through so much I cannot imagine how they stayed sane and not give up. The members with the success they have now could afford to be petty, could even afford to remember those moments and used it to destroy anybody who mocked them before, but they didn't, they chose forgiveness and moving on, this is why I will always be on their side. They are just diligent, kind people who worked so hard for what they have. They deserve the universe.
About Steph's comment on American Hustle Life: I don't know if you feel scared to watch it because of perhaps what people say online, but it's truly one of the best things to watch because you see how dedicated and fun these guys were. They grew so much during that show and there's only a few cringe moments (although they're quite memorable) but the ones saying the show was cringe or not good, are most likely the ones who didn't watch it all. Some of BTS's most iconic moments and important parts of their growth and journey came from that show, so I truly hope you can watch it someday!! (p.s. lots of funny and heartwarming moments too)
they didnt have many friends in the industry but there were exceptions. GOT7 is another Kpop Group from around the same time, and some of them are friends with BTS members since 2014 or earlier. (Jackson and RM) (Jungkook & BamBam & Yugyeom) and up to this day they have friends in the industry... not a lot of their senior maybe but still :) Its the one part that I dont like about Boracity Videoos is the generalisation of some areas or groups of people <3
i think you’re misunderstanding the point of the video. it wasn’t trying to claim bts has no friends in the industry. mentioning their industry friends wasn’t relevant to the video’s main topic. she was mainly going off what bts themselves talked about in their book. of course bts has idols they’re friendly with and acquaintances in kpop, but in the grand scheme of things, especially in recent years, the people they talk about the most aren’t other idols. they usually mention their family, military friends, dancers, stylists, creatives, and other non celebrities when talking about the people they’re close to. if anything, groups like epik high would’ve been mentioned too since bts has often looked up to them as seniors in the industry.
If you watch those old behind the scenes, the Bangtan Bombs and episodes and then read the book....the interactions they have, the face they put on for the blogs, everything just hits different.
Man, you guys mentioning how hard it must be for BTS to make genuine friends nowadays... that crosses my mind often! And it applies to romantic relationships as well, not just platonic. Like how do you begin to suss out what is a genuine connection, when you're in such a position of fame? It's kind of tragic to have to live with that cautious mindset.. :(
Heyy what’s going on with ur Moresidemen videos?? I thought u said they would be on ur youtube instead but we haven’t had any since
We do among us when they have them and then have been filming others for the weeks there are no among us vids. We have Simon reacts to food in America coming this week I believe!
Remember when Yoongi was the target of that drunk driving scandal? At that time, the haters showed up and sent like wreaths and huge flower arrangements saying that he should be cancelled, calling for him to be kicked out of the industry.
Yes, and to be more specific - funeral wreaths
This video was great, really does broaden your perspective about what they had to go through I just remembered what Suga and RM talked about on Epik High's channel, how because they had no senior groups at the company, basically the only people they could reach out to were Epik High (like Suga asked Tablo for advice before going up on stage at the AMAs because he was so nervous he cried) I was already happy they seem genuinely very close, but I feel like this video connects the dots in retrospect, I'm glad they weren't completely alone (though they always had each other) And I love that clip at the end of Hoshi on Suchwita, he was so happy to get a chance to speak to Suga and thank him for what BTS have done to change the industry, as their junior He's from Seventeen, they debuted in 2015 so they're a "senior" group now. They also started with a very tiny company that became big and got integrated into HYBE, so now they're under the same umbrella as BTS. They definitely had it rough in the first years, so it's great to see them thriving now, and bonding with BTS over their experiences. You could watch that Suchwita if you're ever interested (another member, Woozi, also went on Suchwita later and it was great -a lot of talk about their shared passion for producing music and how they're lowkey twins haha) Wow, this must be my longest comment ever 😂 thanks if you read it all
I guess i've been following bts for so long I forget this kind of context is necessary!
Snooze is one of my favourite songs ever. The way she recited the lyrics like a poem hit so hard. I’m so proud of yoongi and all the members for being so actively kind, like steph said, it’s so commendable.
