NoOoo~ Guys, you skipped like half the story in the beginning 😅 Crunchyroll is genuinely a trash streaming service so just avoid the "skip intro" button. Some shows like to cold open so it's almost never accurate these days.
Crunchyroll is always messing up, they added the skip intro as a new feature and in new episodes it skips scenes not even actual intros anymore
I'm an anime only, so I know only as much as you do, but I've never had the impression that the brimmed caps are trying to steal Coco (at least not physically). Rather, they're somehow trying to groom her to the "dark side" of magic. Every time we've seen them interact with Coco it's only been to expose her to forbidden magic and show her how strong it is. The creepy eye witch called the creepy dragon dimension Coco's "assignment," the special ink a "gift," giving baby Coco the book "planting a seed." This is a bit of a shot in the dark, but I'm not sure there's anything inherently magical about Coco or that she has some deeper connection to the brimmed caps. Creepy eye gave Coco the picture book and a "wand" without explaining anything about them and then waited years for her to discover magic on her own. If she was able to do that it means she has curiosity, intuition, and a passion for magic that they can take advantage of if they want someone who can discover and advance forbidden magic. Because magic is so new to her it also means she's especially susceptible to suggestion. When she took the first test she briefly considered drawing the flight spell directly onto her feet. Even if she didn't end up doing it, I imagine that temptation would be completely snuffed out in a witch who's been taught not to do that from birth. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I can't picture Coco's classmates considering using forbidden magic were they in a similar situation. That may be because they already have a repertoire of magic they'd use instead, but since Coco doesn't yet have that it's possible for her own repertoire to incorporate forbidden magic as it grows. Even though her mom was petrified by forbidden magic, in order to counter that she's going to need to learn about forbidden magic herself. When she was with Tartah she came to the conclusion that she might be able to free her mom by casting the spell that petrified her but with a reversed sigil. It seemed wholesome in the moment, but the funny thing is that a modified forbidden spell is still a forbidden spell. The brimmed caps know that Coco doesn't trust them, but that doesn't seem to bother the creepy eye. All that matters is that they have a clever witch whose time spent learning magic has included so much exposure to forbidden spells that she can't help but consider them a possibility. Something I'm also wondering about is a small detail in something the creepy eye said before Coco left the pocket dimension. They said they've been waiting so long for the "seeds" they've planted to sprout. That's a plural seed. When creepy eye gave Coco the picture book in episode 1, they actually had a box of similar books. I wonder if Coco isn't the only seed they planted, if there are other kids they gave books to to see who might be clever enough to become a candidate for their schemes.
Hold on… if agott can replicate and repetition the stone pavements which then disappear after a while, does that mean they can make food that disappears after being eaten? Ultimate weight loss hack.
i didn't knew this was the penultimate episode! surely they can't pack all the action stuff in one episode? watch them leave us on a cliffhanger TT
Don't immediately use the skip recap button on crunchyroll. Let it play for a bit so you know for sure it's actually a recap. You missed a lot of the explanation about the gold city
