Rascal Does Not Dream Of A Dreaming Girl

I'll keep it vague because of spoilers, but some of your comments at the end of this makes me think you really should watch the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzimaya
When I first watched this film, it was a bit confusing. I love how much they understood the events, and it helped on a rewatch to appreciate everything.
Lovedddddd this movie, and reaction! 馃ス
there dramas that are abusive towards the audience(and we love) but Rascal does not dream... is more of a emotional BDSM Btw did you realised that the name of the series was finally explained?(i mean the true name not the anime name). so rascal does not dream because it was a dreaming girl dream all along. Sakuta chosing Mai is really importante wen you concider who much of a inspirational oroborus he and shoko are
This movie hits very different now that i got diagnosed with a genetic heart disease 2 years ago..

BTW, the next two movies are only around an hour each so closer in length to 2.5 episodes than feature length. Either way no need to do a film every week just whatever is possible with the schedule
And that's why "Rascal does not dream". Because it is a Dreaming Girl who dreams it all, and dreams a Rascal dreamed were really happening. It's so amazing how many hints and foreshadowing were left throughout the story up to this point.
Shoko Makinohara shows a valiant effort. This movie is always HEART-wrenching to watch. Take care Steph we can always wait for the next movie.
The discussion you guys had at the end about how Sakuta being with Mai over Shoko is super interesting. It hits even harder when you think about just how much impact Shoko truly had on Sakuta. You guys first theorized that older Shoko acts the way she is to mimic Sakuta, but I feel it's the other way around! Sakuta would literally be a completely different person if he had never met Shoko. His humor, how he constantly helps other people being his way of paying forward the kindness Shoko showed him at the beach, and his philosophy of "living every day being a kinder person than I was yesterday" were all things he got from Shoko. Even the way he introduces his name is the same way Shoko did when they first met. And it all pays off in such a beautiful way.
I'm so impressed that you guys didn't really cry at all haha, I remember this was the very first thing I watched on new year's 2023, I spent it alone and I started this film near midnight and then I'm pretty sure mai died not long after the clock ticked over to jan 1st and I couldn't see the run time of the film so I genuinely thought I was near the end and they were gonna kill her off haha, I was WEEPING 馃槶 crazy way to ring in a new year lmao I'll never forget it
Gojo and Marin were cosplaying Sakuta & Mai season 2 episode 1. 馃榿
You were right about the organ donor bit! I always like all the callbacks from each of the previous stories in this movie. Like the bunny outfit (copying Mai), getting drugged again (like Mai), meeting Koga (because of quantum entanglement/kicking each other's butts), both Sakuta's talking on the phone like Futaba, and fusing memories at the end (Just like Futaba). Like, the time travel stuff was messy and a little confusing, but somehow, with all the setup of the entire series, it allowed me to genuinely make sense of it somehow and it all just clicked!
Time travel is messy business. Super confusing movies
Fun fact In the novel before Sakuta goes back to save Mai he notices a ring on Shoko's ring finger which means Sakuta was talking to the Shoko version that married Sakuta in the future. Great reaction as always to one of my favorite movies
AMAZE AMAZE AMAZE
fist my bump!
