Making spiders fight each other is apparently a thing kids do in certain countries. A friend of mine who grew up in the Philippines made spiders fight each other when she was a kid.

I don't think it ever was them taking the moral high ground as much as it was just the statement of Bellamy and co being so beneath them it isn't even worth it. Like just letting a toddler throw a tantrum. Hopefully next episode the fight goes as you hope it does.
Yeah also, Oda has talked about how Luffy destroys people's dreams rather than killing them. Bellamy has no dreams so there's nothing worth destroying.
Lol yeah idk Wes, a drunken romp through the forest trying to catch a bird sounds like an amusing night out. Especially if you have OP people around to protect you or the durability of Usopp then no worries
