Fun fact about Subaru's tracksuit and how is it so durable. Before arc 3, a.k.a the fight between Subaru with his allies against the white whale and the witch cult. Rem sews a bunch of similar tracksuit but with the material in this world. That's why Subaru always wearing the tracksuit. Another fun fact about Emilia after Subaru got promoted to be her knight. She will sometimes hanging out in the village or the town and bragging with people about how amazing Subaru is.

Yeah? You irl would just give up on the royal selection and let Roswall go? All those elves stay frozen. All the people that died meaningless deaths. All that effort gone into it. Just go be a hobo instead with no title or status or money? Not to mention losing one of the strongest people in the world on the same level as echdnia in magic. Echidna is actually quite literally omnipotent if she wants to be. Her authority is the perfect version of the tomes she gave out to roswall and beako. Those already can perfectly tell the future. The gospels despite being defective copies likely are fairly accurate as well. But Echidna literally could know anything in the past present or future if she used her power. She just didnt like doing that since she likes learning. Yes someone like Subaru could change the future but something like her power can also just adjust and read that new future.

Betty isnt in the witches cult. We learned that ages ago. The tome was a gift from Echidna. And the wtiches have nothing to do with the witches cult. Not even envy. Only vanity is involved in it.

Gar didnt use his beast form because its slower and shes really fast. Its only useful for semi transformation surprise attacks or when he needs a quick burst of power. It also uses alot of energy.

You guys are so bad at picking up on context. When they leave you clear context clues that something is meant figuratively, you guys are like "Ha, didn't know that was the case", like its literal! When they make it clear that something is literal, y'all are like "it could just be meant figuratively again..." I mean pay attention to the details! With Elsa and Meili for example, after Gar calls them sisters, Elsa says "Sisters? * pause * Yes, we are sisters." Yet you guys completely ignore the "Sisters? * pause *" part, and focus solely on the "Yes, we are sisters." part! Elsa was clearly not expecting to be called Meili's sister, because she isn't! The pause was her thinking about her relationship with Meili, before finally deciding that they are in fact like sisters! With the term "half-devil", it is constantly used interchangeably with "half-elf", and only by people who think negatively of Emilia. This indicates it is CLEARLY just a way of insulting half-elves like Emilia, by comparing her to a literal incarnation of evil! Similarly, when Minerva meets Emilia at the end of the trial, she goes out of her way to make sure Emilia doesn't see her face. She is clearly emotional at the sight of Emilia, and she cares about her. And up until this point, Echidna, we we know doesn't have the greatest relationship with Minerva, has been referring to Emilia as a "witch's daughter", and commenting on how she dislikes her. Draw your own conclusions from all this information!

At 7:10, I would have to check the original dialogue to be sure, but: Remember the custom we learned about in Season 1 with what sending someone a blank letter means in Lugunica?

A lot of people said it, but they lack conviction! It is hinted at, insinuated at, hinted at again, and outright shown in so many indirect ways that they are basically outright saying that Minerva is Emilia's real mother. Part of why is misunderstanding of the power structure and relating it to a literal slur of their world. They call half elves, half devils because the damage Satella did to their world was so severe that there is no one in the world who doesn't hate elves to some extent. They do kinda explain this if you pay attention more towards the parts of season 1 where Suburu is back in the capital and he's interacting with the city with a whole crowd. Half of that crowd were half of 2 different races, but they all shared the same racism towards Emilia. Satella is that hated. She's basically like Voldemort in Harry Potter but even worse to promote targeted racism and it to be socially accepted. The rest you might have missed are just all of the hints towards what is going to happen throughout the series. Some of it foreshadowing and some of it there so you can actually somewhat piece together what might happen. Despite missing some of the key story elements it's still fun to see ya watch it though. It doesn't bother me that much, but understanding some of what you missed would give more clarity to season 3.

I legit believe Minerva is Emilia's mother. It fit all checkboxes. She is human, she is a witch, she cares about her, she got sad when emilia said her mother was fortuna instead and she is genuinely a good person/witch.

Guys, just read witch cult translations' cut content!!! Please! It's like 4 pages of text! There is so much stuff that was cut from anime and you could see stuff was foreshadowed long before it was revealed in the anime.

Every time you two say "Echna" it drives me insane. <3 you but please please please read this word one letter at a time "Echidna" E like the sound from the e in exit. chid like the word "kid" that makes you parents. na like "Nabisco" or the end of the name Anna. The emphasis is on the "kid" sound. Echidna ;) hope that helps.

roswal was never able to undergo the trial. he was badly injured because it rejected him since he wasn't qualified ( he didn't have mixed blood). maybe you guys forgot because of subaru, but you gotta remember that dude has always been an exception to most things lol

now here are some non-spoiler things you missed or got confused about: 1- The ''devil'' isn't really a devil, the warlock of melancholy a.k.a hector, is the equivalent of a witch, it's like male witch, but even that isn't totally accurate. him and pandora aren't part of the 7 sins. and not much about them is known. 2- Emilia isn't half devil, it's just what they call her cuz she resemble the witch of envy who was so evil, and that's akin to a devil, devil = a very evil person. 3- Elsa and Meili aren't really sisters, but they seem like sisters, thus why Elsa replied to Garf: ''sisters? yes we are sisters'' at the very least I think Elsa thought of Meili as a little sister. also Elsa isn't REALLY a vampire or what traditional vampire should be (sucks blood, weak to sunlight...etc) but the anime didn't adapt the explanation so let's leave it at that, there are side stories about Elsa and Meili and their life before the main story if you are interested but that's only in book format. 4-the reason Subaru and Emilia don't recognize Echidna is because the one who they saw in the trials and the encased here have different faces. they look similar (hair color, eye color...etc) but if you look very closely, you'd notice they have different facial structure, the one encased looks a bit kinder, more sleepy, the one from the trial look more sharper, and younger. it's implied that they are the same but also different persona. it's not well explained why that is, maybe the one who is encased is the real echidna (the teacher and the mother who cared for Roswaal and betty) and the one in the trial is her witch of greed persona. and when she died they split apart, it's just a theory tho. here is a theory that many fans thought about, it's not a spoiler really but not sure if you consider it spoiler territory, I warn in advance, tbh I thought you'd pick it up considering you picked up on so many hints here and there...........................................................................................................ok that's warning enough, it's regarding Emilia's mother, biological mother actually, Fortuna said her brother looks like her and Emilia looks like him too and she doesn't look anything like her really mother. we also know many characters called Emilia, ''the witch's daughter'' but they didn't say which one, what If Emilia's mother is actually Minerva the Witch of Wrath? she ticks lots of boxes, and the way she treated her is almost like a daughter, she really cared about her. and they share some traits like kindness, and that way they quickly deny that they are kind, also Minerva didn't let Emilia see her face, is there a reason for that? the plot thickens...

Half devil isn't literal, it's more so meant as an insult or slur because of her resemblance to Satella and the hate that comes from that.

one minor thing to keep in mind: the humans and other races arent straight up racist towards Elves, they're terrified. because the Witch of Envy was an elf, they see all other elves as possible archvillains like she was. which although it's been a long time i do think is KIND OF a valid reason to be wary, considering just how much death and destruction Satella wrought across the world when she was alive. its still not cool, but i do see the reasoning behind it at the very least

It's interesting to see how you always talk about Roswaal and the trial. Maybe I'm wrong here, but he didn't fail....he was rejected. So he couldn't even try it. Remember, only specific people could do it like Garf or Emilia. Subaru was only allowed because of Echidna.

"I always just read it fonetically" is so funny when Geuse becomes Geese - not to speak of Echidna where the 'id' just disappears hahaha :p Also I'm a believer that 'that person' that was to inherit the library didn't mean the physical library. I think moreso than Betty being the proper inheritor and that's what it means it's moreso that Echidna wanted a proper person to inherit the legacy of her knowledge which is Betty herself. That's just how I interpret it though. Lots of room for that in this show.

What Echidna said was that the book was created by her authority. Or to be more specific, her version of the authority of greed, since witch factors have different effects based on the person possessing them. It IS written by her, not something divinely ordained, but still of course, in a way it's divinely ordained because fate itself is, and that's what the book is trying to lay out. Also, I think you're kind of misunderstanding Echidna, or rather, forgetting an important detail that I think you actually had noticed while watching episode 12. Echidna, or any of the witches for that matter, can't just be classified as good or bad. Sure, their actions can't be distributed into those categories from an outside perspective from a consequentialist perspective, but it doesn't address the fact that they don't do things based on that metric. Their morality simply isn't the same as normal human society. They don't care about the harm their actions can cause. They do things because they want to. I think it's part of why they're described by Subaru as incomprehensible monsters instead of evil. At the end of the day, you can see the trials as therapy or get desire to know Subaru's pain as emotional support, but that doesn't change the fact that she does not see them that way. It's the reason why she can show an interest in Beatrice's future, and later see that future turn out horrible but think of it as a wonderful thing. It only needs to be interesting, not good. Good news and bad news are both good, because they're new. No news is boring and bad.

1:26:45 devil is synonymous to witch/warlock. so the devil of melancholy is the warlock of melancholy. emilia a half elf is a half witch. puck and betty are both artificial great spirits thats where the siblingness comes from.

I am convinced that Minerva is Emilia's mother. Their interaction makes much more sense if Minerva is the biological mom
