If you remember Bradley told Mustang that Salin could never be used as a weakness to get to him. We thought he meant that he didn't care about him but it had double meaning
I tried but I really can't continue with this reaction anymore, they keep complaining about everything the characters do and say every 30 seconds, it's so annoying. This is without a doubt the naggiest reaction I've ever seen!
will this and/or future episodes be eventually uploaded to youtube? i might have missed the info. i mostly ask bc i didnt see anything past ep 39, and i dont love patreons video format (super difficult to scrub thru). thanks and hope you guys are enjoying/have enjoyed my fav series!
1:59:24 -- This kind of surprise reveal is pretty commonplace in manga and anime. The key point here is the structure of compound sentences in Japanese. In Japanese the subordinate clause _always_ goes _before_ the primary. (An inversion is not possible without breaking one sentence into two.) When quoting somebody's speech, you begin with the quoted speech and then at the end you add the sentence that states that it was actually a quote.
2:55:00 You did misunderstand the scene somewhat, during Hoenheim’s research he drew out the country-wide transmutation circle and said “…You bastard.” It was immediately after this that he left on his journey.
that's what I was going to say, hoenheims was a good guy who had to suffer so much
1:30:13 -- Actually, "drachma" is the name of the national currency of Greece. But, yes, this country is supposed to be something similar to Russia, nevertheless.
44:34 -- In the episode 19, Lust destroyed the glove on which he had the transmutation circle, so he carved the transmutation circle into his right hand in order to use it to fight Lust later. These are the remains of those wounds, which still haven't healed completely.
In regards to Mustang being "naive" and "believing in an institution": he wasn't wrong. Because of the plots of Father his country really was being attacked on all sides, BY DESIGN. If they didn't fight back then everyone he knows and loves WOULD have been killed by Ishval and the other states + nations surrounding them.
One detail about Doctor Knox which the anime does not mention (but the Manga does) is that he had so much PTSD due to the Ishvalan war that he would start thrashing around in his sleep in panic/chaos. One time his wife tried to comfort him and the doctor, mistaking her for an enemy soldier, tried to kill her. That incident made him decide to distance himself from his family.
honestly such a killer anime
