Harvest from the Homestead! + chickens!!!

Chickens have been the newest addition to the crew out here on the land the last couple of weeks…what an honour it’s been to have the ladies clucking and giving eggs…giving to the gardens, eating grubs and fertilising at the same time…

With the first frosts all the pumpkins and squash vines have died off and given a good little harvest! This season was hard to set pumpkins with the lack of European bees, a huge re balancing is underway in the eco system and so self pollination it was…

Sweet potatoes have gone wild! The loved the cooler soft soil that falls under the banana and bamboo shade, what a harvest this year! Plus so many runners that I will replant in another bed near by this week.

All wheats are now ground down from grain in the direct process of cooking, as to keep the life force as fresh as possible…acquiring a stone mill from an old local soon…

Ginger and turmeric fresh! I love this time of year…
