Dev Update! 2/12/24

Hey, friends! Hope your week's off to a great start!

Work continues at a steady pace for the moment, and the current render count stands around 235. I've been splitting my time pretty evenly between writing and rendering. Right now the challenge is keeping ahead of my own script, and not running out of stuff to render. Some of the early sections I'd written hadn't fully connected to each other yet, so I'd been forced to stop, write them to completion, then resume rendering.

Still, I've got a good bit of runway now, and I'm cruising along without too many problems. I expected the scenes I worked on today to be a bit of a headache, as it was a lot of stuff taking place inside a car. Tight space, difficult camera angles, difficult lighting.. But, doing a similar scene in a previous chapter with Ashe and Viola really taught me how to be smart about these scenes, and it was surprisingly fun as a result. Yay, experience!

Soon I'll be moving onto rendering some Risa sections of the script, and I'm super pumped for those. You've see how Ms. Rhodenbarr behaves at work -- now you'll get to see her home life. >_> For those scenes, I needed a new minor character, so I made.. a maid! She's inspired by my love of 90's anime.

Finally, I've been kicking around an idea for a while now for a mini-game. Maybe something I can do while I take a short vacation from Friends Indeed, later this year. I don't know if I'll actually get around to it, but I've got a loose outline for the first chapter, and it'd star a certain annoying influencer..

Still, at the moment my main focus remains on getting this next chapter out ASAP. Once I'm through with these Risa scenes, I'll have about 50% of the update completed. So, I'm just going to keep pushing towards that goal, until I get there.
