Dev Update! 5/12/26
Hey folks, hope all’s well with you and yours this week! I don’t have a whole lot to talk about, as I’m still just working on the usual stuff: The beta for Ch14 to fix some bugs and add a few bells and whistles, and Ch15 with Cutiedoll. I’m still aiming to have the Ch14 public build and a for Ch15 out this month.
If I can be super honest, I’ve been struggling this month. I’m feeling burnt out after Season 1’s soft-remake, and Chapter 14’s ever-expanding render and word count. Add in illness, computer problems, concerns over ever-encroaching platform censorship, a demanding day job, and a healthy dose of depression and neurosis, and it’s just been tough. For the past couple of weeks I find myself sitting down at my keyboard and staring at code, fiddling with this or that and never really getting anywhere. I feel like I’ve been telling myself for months now, “Just get this chapter done, and you can slow down a bit,” and it still feels just out of reach.
This all sounds a bit dire, I know. But I’ll work through it. I’ve succeeded in putting my ass in my seat and getting stuff done for the past couple of days. Once Ch14 and Ch15 are finished, I really hope to have the mental bandwidth/time to start doing more fun stuff here. I want to do more short stories. I want to publish my novel. I want to do mini-games, and explore different game engines. I want to do speed-draw videos and Daz instructionals. I want to try streaming while I work on stuff.
I’ve got big plans, but they’re all kind of dependent on me not feeling crushed beneath a cascading workload. So, I’ll use that as my motivation to wrap this stuff up. Thanks for your patience while I do that.
In addition to this week’s (edited for public consumption) image from Ch15, I wanted to do a couple pin-ups of Nicki and Risa. Nicki’s was really just an excuse to try out that dress asset (spoiler: I love it) while for Risa I just wanted to explore her ennui.

You should take a break for a few weeks. You will help no one if you collapse from overwork and burn out. Take care of you health, physical and mental. We will wait.

'You're no good to us dead'- Take care of yourself first dude. As has been said in here, we'll still be here. This has been one of the most awesome and engaging stories I've enjoyed out of the dozens of these types of VNs I've gone through. I'm sure most of us would rather you get well rested, healed up, and in a better, happier mental state, than to push yourself, ruin your health, and produce anything half-assed! 🤗💖 That said, I love how much thought you put into each character, even those that don't appear often or are one shots. You make them feel like real people with lives, dreams, ups & downs, etc. Stay awesome yo!
Finish chapter, then take some days off. We're not going anywhere 😉

Is it possible to export/input saves into . 14 alpha?
Yes, but make sure you're trying to export/import from Friends *INDEED* -- the Patreon build is different and incompatible with what I distribute on other platforms, due to Patreon's more rigid content guidelines. This will be changing in the near future, as my other platforms have brought their rules in-line with Patreon, and it just makes sense to unify the versions and save files. But for the time being, Friends Indeed can only import files created with Friends Indeed.
