Dev Update! 1/6/26
Hey, folks! Hope you’re all doing well, today! Sorry to get this up a day late, but as usual I was in rendering mode and didn’t want to take a break to write this post. Apologies!
Things are still moving with the new chapter. I finished Gabby’s friend route, which includes an optional spicy scene.. Next up is finishing the love route scene, which I started a few weeks ago before getting side-tracked with the release of Season 1, the Season 2 teaser, getting the flu, etc. Once that’s done, and I’ve completed the coding I still need to do, knock out any ‘pick-up’ images I still need, and put out the new alpha. Until then, enjoy the many flavors of Mason available in this update – plus Gabby! The image count continues to climb, and my mental state continues to deteriorate.
(Jokes! Well, kinda..)
In general dev news, I had one supporter reach out and inform me that the save migration feature isn’t working for their Steam Deck. I’ll admit, this isn’t a platform I’d thought about when rolling out the function, so I’ll need to look into it. I suspect the fault lies with the fact that I don’t build a Linux-specific build, though I didn’t think it would really matter.. But it could also be the fact that I initially mislabeled the value needed to export the saves, and didn’t get it corrected right away. So some people built their save exports with a buggy version, and didn’t realize it until they tried to export them and couldn’t find them. Like I said, I’ll need to do some investigating.
Finally, I decided to distract myself a bit from the (at this point) exhausting work of rendering, and play around with an idea suggested by a longtime supporter – a Mason management sim! No, I didn’t actually make it. I just mocked up some art, ran it through some color-reduction and pixelizer web apps, and slapped the image on the Playdate console. I’ve previously joked around about how much I’d like to do a throwback eroge for a niche platform like the Playdate. While I certainly don’t have the time to do it now, it remains a distant dream. Maybe when things slow down, and I finish edits for my novel, I’ll carve out a little time for it.

Hey there. This is probably the best VN I've ever played. , I was wondering if I could just throw you 50 bucks for Season 1. Follow up: I know Patreon has rules about Dark themes, so all of those themes may or may not be available elsewhere. I like to play both the light and dark routes, so before I became a Patron, I'd like to know if for Season 2, are dark themes available anywhere?

Hey Neon(best creator 💜) I wanna know is there a way to play the initial version of the best game I have ever played with "THAT HARDCORE DARK" path in android as I really miss that dark path storyline. I'm not complaining about current it's great but I sometimes feel like I wanna play that version enjoy that dark phase dark path 😋🙃😈. Well, I like the story, more or less. I disliked how Risa dragged him to the drug dealers house and I was glad I could refuse further help. Would prefer to say no to her before going into the house... cause I wouldn't go as she lied about the car. But ok. As I said the story goes great, except to much attention to Mason for my taste. But that's personal, so... Can't wait for further versions, keep up the great work. 👍
Thanks! Risa's plotline is always a little contentious, but you are given the option to abandon it if you choose to. I felt like that was a decent compromise. Maybe one day I'll have the time and energy to do an entire route around it, where the player just never meets Lucien, or gets involved with Risa.
Game and story look interesting especially the visuals but before I start is the futa/trans avoidable and if so is it actually avoidable or just skippable?
There is no futa. Mason (one with collar, redhead natural/blond wig/purple wig in those pictures) is female who wants to be male, but is too poor to afford anything so only thing he does is to wear male/unisex clothing. You can either accept it, partialy accept it (he wears wig during intimate scene, but outside of it MC calls him as male), or have 0 acceptance about his gender and pronouns. His story is not skippable, it is part of main story, but you can just make MC help with Mason without string attached so without any intimate scenes.
Okay- since having gotten the $15 membership, I have been playing through the full season, and have some slight gripes about the changes to the beginning of the story. Like, I am not a huge fan of Nicki basically holding no responsibility at the beginning. She was there to be with Chris, like actually, it was no longer about money. Which not only implies her intention was to cheat the whole time, (justified as she is) but also makes Chris (what I call Guy) seem like an asshole for being so angry at her, when she shows back up. Because she is EXPLAINING why she was gone, and he has no real reason to be upset with her. Before, it was because she had honeypotted him to get money, slept with him and made him assume they were a thing, took off with a ton of money he gave her, and then she disappeared. But now it is just... because she was gone, and he wanted more. Which seems... shitty. Yuh know? BUT- still having a ton of fun obviously, lol. Where do I get access to the discord?
I don't entirely disagree. I have a lot of qualms about how I handled some stuff in those early chapters, and I'd love to tweak them more.. But I also don't want to spiral into Remake Hell. One day I'm sure I'll go through and address some things that I dislike about the early chapters. As is, I think it basically works, with Guy (or Chris :D ) just being really hurt by his best friend ghosting him for the better part of a year. If the person you were closest to just up and vanished, leaving you to worry and then mourn their absence, I think it'd be fair to be a little pissed when they finally showed back up.
