Dev Update! 9/9/24
Hey, friends! Hope you're all doing well this week!
Over the last few days I wrapped up the park scene I've previously teased, and the current render count stands at 786. I'm dividing my time between making the new game build, and cranking out renders whenever I can. If my PC is in use rendering, or I'm at my day job (and have some free time), I'm working on the game build and script. If I'm at home, I'm usually posing scene files. This is all an attempt to make the best use of my time and resources, so I don't get bottle-necked anywhere.
At the moment, my rendering attention is focused on Mason's shopping scene. But, once I have all the renders plugged into the new demo game build, I'll likely need to do some pick-up renders for a couple scenes, filling in little gaps here and there. That should put the demo over 800 renders in total. The goal is to have it out by this weekend for all $15+ supporters.
With that done, I'll be free to fully devote the following week to Mason's remaining ero and shopping scenes, and the chapter will be 90% done. All that'll remain is the Gabby/Madison stuff that book-ends the chapter. My plan/hope is still to rush through those scenes with Gabby and Madison, and have a complete Chapter 10 out this month. Buuuut, everything always takes a little longer than I'd like it to. Being sick a couple weeks ago really threw a wrench in all my plans.
So, if I fall short I'm just going to drop a Part One release this month, with Part Two following in October. I don't want to do that, and I've been pushing myself to avoid exactly that. But, I'm trying to squeeze every ounce of productivity out of myself that I can, and I still feel time slipping away from me. Plus, I'm pretty firm about getting a release out every four months. The way I see it, it'll just give people options. Want to play Part One right away? Cool, do it! Want to wait for the full thing? That's fine, too! Plus, Part One is no small chunk of content, with a few ero scenes, lots of story developments, and over 1000 renders.
Again, I'm still working to avoid this, because I really don't like doing it. And maybe things will progress faster than I had planned. But, I just want to be honest about where things stand. I'll keep busting my ass, though. Onwards and upwards!

Don't rush! Gabby and Mason are worth the wait. If you feel the time starting to slip by then you can break it into parts but honestly I think people prefer whole releases...people who want to bitch will, so don't make decisions for them in mind.

From the perspective of a fan, a paying customer, and someone who appreciates your humor, let me say thank you. We appreciate your vision. Your work and work ethic are incredible. I'm sure this isn't your only full time gig. But, don't sacrifice your art to rush it out to market. You'll regret it later. So what if it takes a couple of extra weeks to get it where you want it. We'll get to enjoy a superior product.
Thank you! It means a lot to hear that, honestly. I'm my own worst critic when it comes to this stuff, and I feel like I constantly need to push back against the image of the "do-nothing devs" that tend to populate the AVN space. It genuinely means a lot to me that so many people support me, and as a result I feel the need to repay that by delivering content for everyone. But, I do recognize that the desire to get something finished is sometimes at odds with the ability to make my best work. I try to thread that needle as best I can, though. :'D

I might put it to a poll. But, my nightmare scenario is that I get into doing the Gabby/Madison content and realize, "Crap, this is actually bigger than I thought it would be.." and then it slips into November, or some such craziness. I also take kind of the long view, and think about what it'll all look like once Season One is complete, and nobody will even remember how the chapter releases were staggered. :'D Still, I'm struggling with the decision. Hopefully the demo build goes quick than expected, and that frees up some time on my end to complete everything to my satisfaction.
