Dev Update! 7/22/24

Hey, friends! Hope you're all doing well this week!

Work's been going well here at the ol' Neon Ghost Smutatorium. Last night I finished up an ero scene for Mason. As you can see above.. Mason's being a very good kitten in this scene. :D

But! When I teased this costume last update, with Mason sending the player some naughty photos, I had some fans and supporters ask, "Can we have the option to remove the cat ears for the scene?"

The answer, in brief is.. No. Due to the way Daz Studio works, I'd basically have to do a partial re-render for each of the renders in the scene. Now, that's certainly doable, but not if I want to get this chapter out the door ASAP. I don't think it'd be a great use of my time.. Now, maybe down the road a bit, when I'm looking for an easy content update? Sure, maybe!

Instead, I thought the best way to approach it was to just give the player two scenes with Mason. The one with kitten ears is fairly short, in the range of 30 renders. While the other scene will be longer, and feature Mason in glasses. So, there's a little something for everyone.

Rendering progress aside, I did have to take a step back and re-write some script bits. I realized that I was writing myself into a situation where I'd have too many potential plot branches running, and it just.. Wasn't going to work. So, I sat down with a notebook and started mapping out some things, and finally managed to condense the available plot branches into something that'll be more manageable. It sucked to have to scrap some stuff I'd already written, but I think the update will only be stronger for it.

Currently I'm working on getting a new Demo release available for $15+ supporters, and while I'm not quite sure when it'll be ready, I'll get it out before the end of the month. I've got the next few days off from the day job, so I'm going to hit the rendering hard and try to finish out a big talky scene.
