Golden Demon '26 - Candid Shots

Hello everyone!

I'm back from Adepticon with a full heart and lots of excitement from seeing all my friends, and looking at incredible minis!

I'm very proud of my students, thank you all for signing up for classes and being attentive. You produced great results. It also makes me very happy to see familiar faces from last year and repeat students all throughout the weekend. You guys are amazing, thank you so much.

Golden Demon!

After the ceremony, it's become tradition for everyone to get their models out in a spectacular "show and tell". I feel very lucky to be able to walk among these artists and behold their creations.

Be aware the photos I'm sharing are very candid. They were captured with my phone camera in an uncontrolled environment and sometimes I couldn't quite get the right focus or shot.

That said, I think sharing candid photography of minis in this setting can be extremely useful and exciting to see! You get to see alternative angles, different focal points (apologies for any that are completely out of focus!) and at times you get a glimpse of the artists having exciting conversations in the background.

Everyone was buzzing in this setting and I was basking in it :)

Until next time, Adepticon, I'm looking forward to it already!

Thank you for posting these. I've come across a lot of these models on Instagram after they've been heavily edited in Photoshop to look absolutely unreal. It's nice to see photos of these same miniatures as they ACTUALLY look. I'm not saying they're not incredible, they are, but real photographs aren't as discouraging as the ones these artists post on insta

Anytime man. What you see on Instagram isn't always false illusion of what these models look like, it's simply a controlled environment. So you're getting the exact golden angle and lighting scenario that the artist is presenting. I understand where you're coming from though and agree completely when it comes to seeing alternative angles and lighting of the miniatures in a real world setting. It's pretty magical!
