Nova Open Workshops

Good morning, my friends!

It's been a long but enjoyable two weeks of prepping for my upcoming workshops at Nova Open this next weekend.

I'm very excited to have two sold-out workshops titled "Way of the Beard" where I teach students how to sculpt hair from putty at the marine scale.

Pictured above are the sculpting picks I make from bamboo to give to my students as well as a prepped model they can use as a blank canvas.

I encourage students to take the models home and experiment with more techniques found here on my Patreon to help kindle the hobby flame in hopes they will discover new techniques and new ways of working that keep them excited about the hobby.

It's always so exciting to do in-person workshops to meet new people in person and develop new lasting friendships.

This will be my first time at Nova and I couldn't be more excited to experience it. The staff have been excellent so far at making sure everything is running smoothly. So far so good!

I'll be carpooling with two of my hobby buddies, Chris Suhre and Dan Dugal. It's a 12-hour drive and honestly, I'm pumped for all the hobby talk! 😁

Thank you all for reading, I'll be taking lots of pics and I'll do a comprehensive post after the event and if I have time try to get some images up here during the event as well.

Cheers, my friends, keep the fires burning!
