Animation - Ayn's Hip Sway
Here's the finalized product! Finally finished this after starting it back in December, but I'm glad I sat down to finish it in the past two days.
Have a lot to say about this piece. While I went to college for animation, it was primarily 3D. 2D was practiced, but not extensively. I feel like this was a good exercise and refresher. Learned a lot of new things, like using CSP for animating, as well as made some mental notes about how to do better animations in the future. I would've adjusted her body shapes to be a bit more like my art and less 'realistically' proportioned in some places, I'd have done the hair better, and I'd have also not animated on 10fps. Typically 2d animation is done at 24 fps, with drawings every 2 frames ("on twos" they'd call it), so doing it this way was a bit weird, but I forgot what the reasons were.
Anyway, I hope you all can enjoy the product! I'm not against doing more of these, but they'll definitely be simpler. Less detailed body, hair, motion, or just shorter/simpler movement. I have a much better grasp on how to tackle it now than before.
I've saved out some HD stills, large GIF versions, and blank-background ones that I'll include in the April end-of-month ZIP, as well as WIP progress GIFs I saved along the way so you can see how it came along.
Say goodbye to toothbrush cat!
