Hazelnut Latte v0.15.3.0 Progress Report 3

Another week, another report, another step towards victory!

Coding

Slow coding week since Lotus took some much-needed time to rest and play Subnautica 2. Fixed the continue button in the main menu. Fixed the confirmation box for save/load. Made skip a bit faster and displays the dialogue in full. Implemented two of the character sprites; we're waiting on one more.

Fixed audio so it saves your volume setting. Made it so auto-skipping with UI off doesn't keep moving the dialogue.

Working on point and click this week, along with the gallery. Working on load times as well.

Decent progress on the coding side! The visual novel framework works well, so it's just minor tweaking. We're hoping to spend more time on the bigger picture stuff.

Art

Kokman was a beast, cranking out all 5 special moments he needed to do, and then did some stuff for Episode 2. He's just great. God, I love that dude.

Animation

The second sprite is almost fully animated! We are hoping to get it done this week.

The special moments for this build will likely not be animated. I can't really get into why, but we're just having some backend issues with it.

Writing

Good week for writing! I have been in a brain fog with writing, and I hope it's finally lifted. The other day, I managed to do 6k words and really put a dent in Episode 2. I got past the point I was stuck at and can now see the ending!

I'm currently at the end of the episode, which has a mix of New Stuff, Ep 3 Stuff, and Ep 6 stuff! Naturally, that sounds a bit odd, and it is, but it'll hopefully make sense when we get there.

I basically have this last Big Scene to write, and then it's onto cleaning up side routes and doing the big end-of-episode choice recap. Praying I get this draft done by the end of the week.

For those curious, Episode 2, which isn't done, is currently at 39,602 words. The original was 19,630 words :)

In other news, Frisbee has been hard at work cleaning up early Ep 1 and refining my script. They also had a great idea of making it so that even if you're asexual, you can still talk to Max at his van, which is such a good idea. Damn.

Wrap Up

We're doing it! This week, Pamika and Koth are finishing up schoolwork, so they'll still be busy. I am focusing on writing, as is Frisbee. Lotus is working on big-picture features, I'm sure everyone is dying to get. Kokman is drawing amazing things for Ep 2.

The next build should be good to go; it just won't have animations, which is sad, but that's life.

I also need to commission more music. I feel like I need more tracks. We may need to use some demo tracks for this next update.
