Hazelnut Latte v0.15 Progress Report 11/11/25

Welcome to another Progress Report for Hazelnut Latte v0.15!

I announced yesterday that our lead programmer, Nobafka, is no longer with our studio. Our part-time programmer, Lotus, is now working full-time! Last week, we spent some time restructuring everything now that he is working mostly solo on the coding side of things. But he also got sick! So coding was slow, but progress is still being made.

We are working on a new way to display lewd scenes. Instead of playing a video, we are trying to make them run in the engine. This will significantly reduce the storage size, as we won't be saving and playing videos of every lewd scene. We're in the process of determining the best way to adapt all the lewd scenes to work this way. For now, we are creating a video player so that the lewd scenes can play normally until we resolve the issue. Lotus was able to get a lewd scene converted and working in the engine! It looks really damn awesome, so I'm excited to see that proceed. Amazing what we can do when we aren't shackled to Ren'Py.

Another lewd scene was illustrated! Kokman is nearly done with the scene and has sketched out the final part, which looks good.

We have finished the Cafe Estros backgrounds! We haven't finished the entire cafe, but everything you see in Episode 1 is complete. Pamika is now moving to a new location, which features three different backgrounds.

That is that! Just plugging away at our normal work. Last week was a shake up in our team, so we had to navigate those waters. However, I think that going forward, it will be relatively smooth.
