Just a cool fact when Ron said that Ghislane has a sensory type ability. The colors there represents the doppler effect and her breaking the sound barrier and nearly at the speed of light. Thats why rudeus had his hand covering his ears. It just goes to show how fast ghislane is!!

also i just noticed this now but when rudeus walks back into the manor through the gate at the very end the shadow is removed from his face and is replaced with the morning sunlight. love these little things.

ghislaine's rainbow thing is the sword god style's special technique called sword of light. ghislaine is king ranked in the sword god sword style. the sword rankings are the same as the magic ones. beginner - intermediate - advanced - saint - king - emperor - god. the rankings are not literal king or god etc but more like white belt, yellow belt, black belt, etc. meant to portray skill level

I think the way they display power in this show is very esoteric and mysterious, and so cool. Like you really feel they are some ancient arts, at least the more powerful spells and stuff. Power system in this show is underrated!

Man that episode was great. The animation with magic and fighting looks very good. I also like Ron, really like seeing gore in shows. To me it lets you know things can get serious, there’s high stakes and anything wild and crazy can happen since it’s more realistic. I honestly don’t have anything to complain about with this episode. Very good fighting, animation, good story building, and no crazy perverted stuff too. Looking forward to watching more of this for the first time with yall ❤️

Idk. but to me this show is a lot more serious than Re:Zero (won't even mention Slime). Like of course, Re:Zero is also an emotional show, and not to be taken lightly, but it's the difference in writing, like in Re:Zero there's a lot more comedy, goofing around (like Subaru doing weird things, posing, saying weird things, and the relationships in Re:Zero are kinda weird aswell, like he's openly crushing on Emilia, but then he's hanging on with Betty, etc.). Well i think the narrator in Mushoku is doing a lot of work (the internal dialogue of Rudy is probably having as much lines in the show as Rudy), and most of the humour is mostly just satire or irony, the show itself feels more realistic, i could easily call this Fantasy Medieval Simulator, and idk. why, but i wouldn't be able to use that same term about Slime or Re:Zero. And when you said in 30:19, one of the reasons you feel so invested is, because "you're curious about the controversy", i don't think that's even it. I think most viewers can relate to you being invested into the show, but most of us who watched it on release days, didn't even know about the controversy and we felt the same way anyway.

Please do rewatch Re:Zero when you guys can, it's one of the best isekai ever made (my favourite) and is really well-written especially the protagonist probably one of the most real characters in anime. I do have to say though it's slightly a slow burner in the sense that it's gets better and better as you watch because future scenes will make you appreciate past scenes if you know what I mean.

This show has really good world building, character development, animation and pacing. Everything seems like it should be even more well liked. Next episode, (number 6) is the first hurdle episode that many people bounced off of the show. After that the next hurdle episode is episode 8, but once you get past those two, it gets more tolerable. Not that there isn't room to criticize the actions of out protagonist, it just gets a bit less controversial.

"Dere" comes from the Japanese onomatopoeia "dere-dere" which roughly translates to "lovey-dovey". It's often the second component in words like "tsundere" (the tsun part coming from another onomatopoeia, tsun-tsun, meaning aloof, standoffish or cranky) which are often used to describe different flavours of affection. So basically Rudeus was saying "money can't buy love" but used a term absolutely nobody from the world he's currently living in would know.

This reminds me of when Nick was reacting to Takopi's original sin and how much discussion there was around the themes and events of the anime. It really had some controversial topics and opinions, which he got really into discussing with the comments and community. Always good to get some discussion going and hear what other people may agree/disagree with you.

if you like gore you should check out goblin slayer, 2 words "meat shields" . also check out the band gwar. their live shows are actually insane with gore. they also did a cover of pink pony club that is hilarious.

I completely agree with your investment into Rudeus as a character, I also can't really explain it cause I love Subaru and I like Rimiru, but my initial investment was larger and I can't really explain why either because I had no clue about any controversy until like halfway through season 2

Ron towards the end of the reaction was talking about re zero and maybe rewatching it I think they should definitely do that and record it as well since it's been so long. You guys both will remember why rezero is the GOAT and especially season 3&4

for what Ron said at the end, i was still the same way for re:zero and i had actually watched a ton of anime before i watched it when it was airing. I stopped watching after season 2 and i gave it another try like 2 years after and i dropped it again after season 2. Pretty much for the same reason as you, I couldn't really connect with subaru and to be honest the plot seemed like it wasn't really going anywhere. some shows/anime aren't for everyone. Mushoku tensei is definitely my favorite piece of fiction of all time as someone who finished the light novels especially.

I tried Sword Art Online and Rezero. Only isekai I got truly invested in is Mushoku Tensei. My opinion it’s the best isekai ever made.

What's great about these episodes, if you think about rudy's story he's doing very basic tasks but the world around him is very interesting. I typically find slice of life boring, but here the world hooks you in

I think you became more invested because you may find the character in this anime more relatable and the character design as a baby to a now 7 year old kid as adorable in a creepy way because he's a 30 year old in a kid body.

I think the intrigue lies in the dichotomy of the characters. Who, although deeply flawed, are good people to someone. And I think because this is more common in real life, it resonates more. Also the world building but I'm going stay on the topic of the characters. Paul is a good example. He is definitely NOT a good person but he's definitely trying to be a good father. He could work on being a better husband though.
