Robinson is one of Araki's many deceptively deep characters. He developed his needle ability because he didn't want to have any weaknesses in life. He wanted to be perfect. His swift defeat is Araki telling us that having weaknesses is not inherently a bad thing. No human is perfect. It makes me think of both Jotaro and Dio, and how they always felt they had to be perfect human beings. Both were trying to fight against the world. Fighting against the harsh hand Fate had dealt them. From the "Sleeping Slaves" arc, we know that Fate is set in stone. You can't change it or when against it. But Araki is telling us that that is OK. There are other things in life more important than trying to be "perfect" and stand victorious above Fate. He actually says what these things are in Sleeping Slaves, but I cba to go back and find the exact quotes. Broadly these things are bonds, connection, making memories, passing on ideals etc. "Jotaro Kujo. Your weakness is your daughter." But was that really a bad thing?
