you missed couple things due to the dubbed version: 1. During the scene with Oolong (transformed as Bulma) and roshi, Olong actually suggests to do a "puff puff", which is Roshi to put his face between his/her breasts and squish. I'm not kidding. 2. Chi chi assumes she has to marry Goku since he touched her parts with his foot in the last episode. So before they leave with the car at the end of the episode, she asks him to marry in the future, and he says okay, because he doesn't even know what is a marriage

The significant of the Kame goes further. Master Roshi in the Sun Wukong lore, is the teacher for all the celestial. Kame means turtle, but goes even further…Kame is Kurma, which in Hindu religion is the god Celestial Turtle that carry the universe on its back. Fun fact ( Goku=Sun Wukong= Hanuman) all the same . You can find even reference of this Celestial Turtle in Steven Kings Novels. It is all over the world, not just Hawaii.

The dub uses the wrong pronunciation with the kamehameha pretty often, the dub pronounces it like cuh-may-ha-may-ha. The word is actually pronounced exactly how it sounds when it's being charged. Also important to note that Goku and Chi-Chi's last convo was different, she tells him that her father would give Goku her hand when she's old enough and Goku promises to come and get it while not knowing what that means. Less important but pretty funny, the Bulma Roshi thing was censored, he never asks to take a walk he wanted to touch test her chest-butt, so she makes Oolong take her place but instead of just letting him touch Oolong lets Roshi put his face in between which is why she punches him afterwards

The Kamehameha actually translates to "Turtle Destruction Wave" in Japanese. It comes from the fact that Master Roshi is from the Turtle hermit school of martial arts which he mentioned when we were first introduced to him. Also, the relationship between Goku and ChiChi blossoms in true Goku fashion...which is all I'll say for now, but when you guys see it, you'll be like "Yep, makes sense. That's Goku for you"

I’m sure someone in here can give deets on the role imperial Japan played in Hawaiian history. I do know Imperial Japan was considering the annexation of Hawaii at one point (when Hawaii was an independent and sovereign entity and before American annexation/colonization)

From my understanding, Toriyama wanted the signature move for Master Roshi to have Kame in it because it is the Japanese word for turtle since Roshi is the turtle hermit and master of the turtle school of martial arts, and Toriyama's wife, a manga artist as well, suggested naming it after the famous Hawaiian king to make it easy to remember.

I don't know about anything with Hawaiian culture or if that relates but Kame means turtle so the Kamehameha just means "Turtle Destruction Wave"
