Oh yeah I grew up on a game called Fruits Basket upset that game is referenced subtly in the show it was more prevalent in the original but they do still refer to it in the newer series but that's where it gets its name is from the game Fruits Basket :) Toru refers to herself in the series as a rice ball and a rice ball does not belong in a Fruits Basket in the game Fruits Basket you go around and everyone was assigned fruits and one is called out Cherry all the cherries get up and it's kind of like a musical chairs they're sitting in a circle and all the cherries have to run around and find a new chair and then grapes and what other ever fruits but no one will ever call a rice ball because it doesn't belong in a Fruits Basket kids were bullying her but she didn't realize when they called her a rice ball because again that meant she would never be called upon to play it's actually a big Turning Point! Also in the original, there would mid break ads and she would be a little rice ball with a pickled plum next to a little orange cat and gray mouse :) the trio ya know! :)
React to the opening again if you haven鈥檛 listened to the english version of it yet
